Re: Location of washer pump for rear window - LW

I'm referring to my '02-'03 L-series service manuals showing the rear washer pump is in the front driver's side wheel well near the bumper. You'll have to remove the wheel well splash shield for...

Re: High engine fan speed in cold weather...a brief story...

I think you can determine operating temperatures by creating an artificial error - disconnecting a sensor triggering the OBD II self diagnostics into capturing data. Choose a readily accessible...

Re: Brake & Service Lamp on

Under normal operation, brake pads and shoes wear down and as wear occurs, brake fluid begins to fill the void behind caliper pistons, lowering brake fluid in the brake master cylinder reservoir....

Re: 93 sw1 crapped out injection issues

Basic Ohm's law: E=I x R. Current can be determined with injector resistance and voltage. Using 13 vdc, divide 13 by injector resistance to determine current draw.

Many are unfamiliar with...

Re: 93 sw1 crapped out injection issues

My guesstimate is around one amp for the pcm but injector switching transistor may run several amps but in pulses. Your pcm fuse(s) tells you maximum amperage. In general, current draw for engine...

Re: 2005 L300 occasionally shifting hard (bad speed sensor?)

Ask specifically if they can read wrench codes, not just check engine light codes. If the wrench light is off, they may simply tell you "if a light isn't on, codes won't be there..." If they're...

Re: 93 sw1 crapped out injection issues

Some circuits electronically switch ground instead of 12v. If both injector wires were tested for continuity to pcm, is the pcm grounded? There should be ast least one electrical ground terminal on...

Re: 93 sw1 crapped out injection issues

It was suggested to test fuel pressure back in post#4. With 200k miles, no one knows when fuel pumps fail. Maybe now's the time after exhausting several avenues; replaced/tested injector with 12v...

Re: New to Saturn

Back in post#144, you bought a set of tire chains (actually cables) for snow country (where required). Did you ever use them and any comments about their use?

If your coolant cap weakened to...

Re: 2005 L300 occasionally shifting hard (bad speed sensor?)

Krakyll, as mentioned above, we have two indicators - the engine and wrench symbols, in yellow when on board diagnostics detects problems. All emissions related errors with codes turn on the engine...

Re: Replacing water pump 2004 Ion 2, have a few ???

AzMissMona, are you aware of two(2) timing chains in 2.2L ecotec engines? The main timing chain for the overhead camshafts and the balance chain driving the balance shaft and water pump. Below is one...

Re: Saturn modification questions

It's easy to speculate on fuel pressure. It may be difficult to connect a fuel pressure gauge to assess actual pressure without some imagination. With your setup (presuming a flexible fuel line to...

Re: Surging and very high compression

Since his snapshot shows 50mph@wot(99%) and 1800 rpm, it would be helpful to duplicate the same with your car then take a snapshot of map value.

I'm curious about scangauge readings. Does your scangauge display the same map value@50mph, 1800rpm? Comparing values from two readers of the same make and model is always better than one reading...

Re: 2002 saturn vue 2.2 manual intermittent stalling

The crank sensor wiring should be ok if rewired but if in doubt you might have to try jiggling wires while the engine idles. Push, pull, flex wiring along its length to see if a poor repair allows...
