'02 SL2 Automatic For Sale

I have a sign in the window that says $3,900 O.B.O., but I have too many cars as of last week (picked up 2 more), so all reasonable offers will be considered.

Purchased in '08 with 83,000 miles...

Re: Replacing head unit, want to avoid fuse block issues

Everything went in without difficulty on Saturday.

We just ran a fused line from the battery - nothing fancy - and connected the always hot for the head unit and tossed the lighter socket on there...

Re: Replacing head unit, want to avoid fuse block issues

Point taken. That's why I come here!

Most likely, my nephew will do this install for me. He does audio installs as a side line. His truck sounds like a rolling night club. :p Amps, sub woofer...

Re: Elio Motors

I checked out the website. I'm intrigued, considering that last year I burned a few hundred dollars shy of the sticker price of one of these things in gasoline. They claim the creature comforts will...

Re: Replacing head unit, want to avoid fuse block issues

Thanks to you both for responding. I will look up those parts.

Last night I was looking around and found Painless Wiring 3 Circuit Fuse Block at Autozone, $55 locally (cheaper than Amazon,...

Replacing head unit, want to avoid fuse block issues

2002 SL2.

To date, I've had no issues with the fuse block overheating (that I know of). The lighter socket still has power and everything works.

My understanding of the "F5" issue, F2 in this...

Re: Cracked Intake Manifold

I didn't want to take everything apart, so I attempted this repair without removing the intake. Started around 10am and was done by 3pm (yesterday), including a break for lunch.

So far, so good,...

Re: Does anyone use Super Tech oil from Wal-Mart?

Final update on Super Tech.

The '00 was sold, so don't know how it's doing.

Gave up on the Super Tech with the '02 as oil consumption was beyond 3 qts between oil changes. I've switched it...

Re: Prothane

I've got a set of dog bones on eBay with the inserts. Dog bones are used, inserts are new and never used. Was going to put them in the 2000, but my son sold it.

Also, have a new set of inserts...

Re: Is there a Quick Strut brand that doesn't creak?

The fourth set appears to have been the charm.

No more creaking.

Lesson here if you go with Monroe, check the pack codes on the boxes and contact Monroe via their website to find out if that...

Re: Is there a Quick Strut brand that doesn't creak?

Re-using springs was not an option for me. This whole thing started with state inspection. I had no symptoms and the car was not leaning to one side, but inspection showed we had one cracked spring....

Re: Is there a Quick Strut brand that doesn't creak?

Actually I did contact Monroe the other day via their website. They were very responsive and, based on the pack code on the box, were able to tell me the replacement struts we have are "current".

Re: Is there a Quick Strut brand that doesn't creak?

Please see the attached picture.

For those of you who raised the subject of asterisks after the part number, I see only one here.

Is that too few asterisks???

Re: Is there a Quick Strut brand that doesn't creak?

Yes, these are also NOT the Econo version of the Monroes.

Both the Unity and Monroe struts gave a fantastic ride (the Monroes a little bit nicer), but the creaking is just an embarrassment.

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Sold it!

We're down to just the '02 now.

My son found a buyer for the '00 and had his eye on an '07 Cobalt LT Coupe 5 speed that we managed to get a really good deal on.

He's happy.
