Re: Seriously Considering this Aura; Opinions?

It is for me. The difference between the Honda/Toyota/Ford etc is that in the event the actuator dies, you can reach around unlock the rear doors but no not the Aura they decided the locks were...

Re: Seriously Considering this Aura; Opinions?

In all honesty, I would pass on any Aura. If you like the body style then get a 2008-2012 Malibu as more are out there and body parts easier to find

I have owned my 2008 Aura since July 2011. I...

Re: Aura stitched floor mats

If you are not able to get the floor mat with Aura on it and need the correct mats that will fit your car look at Malibu or G6 mats. They made and sold Malibu and G6 floor mats without any...

Re: Thinking about replacing my AURA. Chevy Cruze?

The local dealership lent me a 2011 Regal while they had my LeSabre in for intake repairs. Even though they were not obligated to do so because the car has long been out of warranty, the dealership...

Re: If you could change one design element...

For design changes, I would chose to make better door lock actuators and also relocate the manual unlock button on the rear doors to the front of the rear doors instead of the back like they are now....

Re: burned out headlight, 07 xr

I heard that Silverstars burn out to quick and if the name of the game is to not have to remove the front bumper again for a few years perhaps the regular Slyvania bulbs would be best as they have a...

Re: Thinking about replacing my AURA. Chevy Cruze?

I too was considering the Cruze or Focus. I like what the Cruze has in it and how the car drives. Sure the Cruze had a few issues affecting them last year but I expect all 1st year cars to have...

Re: Trade In Value

First off most dealers don't really care what kind of audio set up you have as long as the radio and all its speakers work. Secondly tinting might actually lower the value of the car because...

Re: Sadly thinking of trading in

Well there are some small cost things you can do yourself to find the leak

1. Go to the parts store and get a small bottle of leak dye(might have to tell them air condition sys leak dye) and a $10...

Re: XR windsheild replacement

The local GM and Ford dealers in my area use Safelite for their needs

I have always been satisfied with them

Why do you think it is not a GM windshield? I know for the 2009 Aura the triple lam...

Re: Design Flaw? Or Feature?

Yea the fact the lock for the back doors is all the way on the other end of the door so you cannot reach around to unlock is one of the things I hate with a passion about this car.

Shows which...

Re: Steering Clunk (again)

It is a new design. There is a new part number on it.

It is not hard to replace it yourself(if you have about 20-30 mins of time and a socket set. Just make sure you don't let the steering wheel...

Re: Upgrade to Self-dimming compass mirror w/onstar

I would not even bother with trying to get the temp to work on the mirror since it is there on the DIC. The Compass is doable though. It should be all attached to the mirror by way of the magnet...

Re: My Floor Mat Doesn't Seem to Fit

Those are aftermarket floor mats

Did you get the car from Carmax? They like to toss out the oem floor mats instead of attempting to clean them. Do you still have the floor mat retainer (plastic...

Re: TPMS sensors

These are the rubber stemmed kind and look like normal valve stems. There is no gasket needed like on the metal ones

Re: TPMS sensors

I assume they are the rubber stemmed TPMS? Yes they are replaceable. They look like normal stems but at the bottom of the stems they have a metal core that sticks out and the TPMS is screwed into it....

Re: Tpms?

Is this the sensor that has a rubber valve stem that looks like a normal valve stem? Then yes all you need is the valve stem. GM sells a kit for that. It is comprised of the following
1. Valve stem...

Re: Upgrade to Self-dimming compass mirror w/onstar

Did you plug the thing in to see if it worked if it does then no further wire action is needed. If not then you can run a couple of wires to the fuse box and piggy back them to a fuse that is only...

Re: Adding USB to 2002-2005 ion/vue mp3 radio?

That device in your link looks nice but if you have the Sat radio it kills it to be able to use the USB. You cannot have both only one or the other

What year Ion/Vue? Peripheral makes the PXAMG...

Re: Steering Clunk (again)

It is easy to replace the ISS with household tools

However DON'T let the steering wheel spin around or move without the ISS back in because it could rip the wires off the clock spring for the...

Re: Is the 3.5L in the Aura the same as the 3.5L in the current Impala?

LZE

GR898SL2 is correct, the Impala had a 3.5l engine if it was the FFV version. Here are some specs on it

The LZE 3500 was an OHV flexible fuel engine based on the 3.9 L LZ9 V6 (it can use...
