Re: Sway bar link, Front, Right (Passenger) vs Left (Driver)

Yeah, those links are the proverbial “weak link” on these cars. I have over 225k on my Vue and have changed these things out at least 4 times.

Even the expensive Moog units with the grease...

Re: 05 Vue Cooling fan running all the time + thermostat question (P0128)

Temperature seems low to me as well. Mine consistently runs about 185 at highway speed and will maybe spike to 195 or so when idling after a long drive.

Re: Shifter bushing

What you say is correct.
I misread your original post. I see now you are talking about the large pivot at the fulcrum.
Probably can’t get new individual parts for that mechanism.

Re: Shifter bushing

Iirc, the ball at the bottom of the lever connects to the front-back cable (black) adjuster, which you can buy for around 30$ part no. 15212802

Re: Shifter bushing

Did you change your cables recently? I introduced a similar issue when I changed mine out. It’s been a while, but I think I was able to correct it by fiddling with the adjuster for the cable that...

Re: New Vue Owner, looking for advice on struts and other stuff

I actually had a broken spring on my 05 in the rear.

It was over 200k when I discovered it and it had been running with low-to-no dampening for lord knows how long.

Re: 2005 Saturn Vue 2.2L 4cyl

If it were me. I would have a “leak down” test done by someone who knows what they are doing. Then if it is a manual, it may be worth the risk of trying a new timing set.

Re: 2005 Vue 2.2 Manual. Help with Backup Lamp Circuit

I’m sure I had the right conduit. I followed it up from the backup switch connector and the other (speed sensor?) connector on top of the transmission.

Re: 2005 Vue 2.2 Manual. Help with Backup Lamp Circuit

I pierced the light-green wire found in a small bundle maybe 5-6 inches from the back of the box and found batt voltage ok.

As you say break is likely where the wires come together and enter the...

Re: Shifter cable installation help!

I presume you are referring to the plastic ball joint type connectors at the ends of the cables. They should snap securely over the balls on the bracket. Iirc, Very little force required.

Make...

Re: Fan always on

It’s easy to get to. Take off the driver side wheel liner. Just a bunch of those black plastic push button clips. No need to remove tire, headlight or anything else.

Re: where is oxygen sensor (bank1 sensor 1)

There is no MAF in that engine. Perhaps you replaced the MAP?

Rich condition...

You’ve dealt with the o2 and MAP...

Check airway next. filter, etc.

Then ignition. plugs, coils, icm, etc.

Re: where is oxygen sensor (bank1 sensor 1)

You access sensor 1 from the top. It is in the exhaust manifold facing the drivers side.

Sensor 2 is accessed from below. Iirc it faces the passenger side.

Re: Random idle issue and random hiccup

You don't say where you're at. Does outside air temp seem to be a factor?

I ask because the throttle body on mine acts up from time to time when it gets down below 10 degrees F.

It's rarely an...
