Re: Draining Coolant - Where does it come out?

Excellent points, fdryer! In particular, the drain plug at the base of the water pump cover (it's not actually in the water pump itself - a minor point, I know). Residual antifreeze does remain at...

Re: the old front wheel bearing trick on L100

I confused things - my apology. I thought that there was a video related to the loaner tool kit for removing the front wheel bearing. More importantly, I've seen no kit available for removing front...

Re: 05 L300 v6 timing belt suggested parts.

Well, not necessarily. I'm still running with the factory installed fuel pump. Individual experiences with various parts needing unscheduled replacement can vary significantly. Hopefully, the fuel...

Re: the old front wheel bearing trick on L100

Whatever you do, avoid using the Centric brand bearing. I had one installed on my car and it failed after a little over two years. Go with National, SKF, Timken, or FAG (a German co.). A good bearing...

Re: Anyone changed an ignition module and radio static and fast idle after ?

The factory ICM was replaced under recall many years ago ('04 perhaps?). There have never been irregularities of any kind with regard to that part since I purchased the car in Sept. 2001 (A Spaced...

Welcome back, BigAl! I'm a fan of the Carolina's since travelling through there in '85. I found both states attractive!

Re: l series engine nomenclature

Frankly, I'm astounded that any mechanic would attempt to bamboozle and lie to a customer that either of those parts have some sort of mileage at which they should be replaced because no such...

Re: Head light and Radiator Support Replacement

I researched your previous threads to find which year model L-Series you had. It would simplify things if you'd go into the User CP and add in your Saturn car information so that it would appear...

Re: Cranks But Wont Start

Thermostat gauges aren't related to pressure of any kind. What do you mean?

Is the mouse nesting removal what rectified your problem from the post linked below (five months ago)?

Re: 2000 LS2 - starter partially cranks, doesn't start

^Please remember that although I have an opinion - and I try to avoid over-stating "my case" - about an item in the Forums I've replied to, by no means do I have anything remotely like the "last...

That's kind of you to say, but let not the delayed reply be a concern. We all have lives to live beyond communicating within these forums (as much as I like them!).

I would certainly speak with...

Re: 2000 LS2 - starter partially cranks, doesn't start

Questions: when was the timing belt last replaced? Has the oil level been maintained and changed regularly?

It worried me when I saw that you had turned the crankshaft counterclockwise. That...

Re: Oh No! Not again! brake issue. strange!

If your mechanic could genuinely not find a problem then that is what he should tell you. It's not that your experience is invalidated, it's merely that he found no evidence of a brake system...

Re: Serious oil leak, my poor Ion's in trouble! (quarts daily)

I could be wrong about this, but I think it would also be helpful if you could tell us where this suspect hose connects at its opposite end in order to identify it. In visiting some OE parts websites...

Re: Stirring up the pot on when to check the oil level in an ECOTEC 2.2L engine
