Re: Race Car Trouble

No way. I won't change that PCM until it dies a horrible death. *knock on wood* The car came to me without the speed governor that most SL2's have and the rev limiter only works intermittently. I...

Re: Splash Guards for 99 SL2

Will the ones from a 1996 fit, do ya know? It's yet another part I don't really need on my race car, but for some odd reason, still there. LOL. :p

Re: Race Car Trouble

Yeah, I finally found my FSM's last night. LOL. The internet site was way off and I am relieved about that. I've had the ABS tampered with for over 6 years on that car. It's ODD as heck that the PCM...

Re: SATURN Names

My green race car's name is PATB (acronym for Pinky And The Brain), named after one of my all time favorite cartoons. My license plate was XOT (one of the many non-words Pinky used to repeat) and she...

Re: Race Car Trouble

PS, I know what P1555 is for. I swapped out the power steering rack with a manual one. LOL. So it's had that code ever since (and it did repeat).

Race Car Trouble

Well, you gotta pay to play, so the old saying goes. I got through my first time run today without a problem, but while in the staging lanes for the second time run, my little "service wrench" light...

Re: Saturn Racing Apparel

Part of the reason I love to race my Saturn (I drag race). I haven't run the nitrous this year (need new solenoids), but on nitrous, she's in the 13's easy. THAT gets a lot of great "dear in the...

Re: Saturn Racing Apparel

I got a couple shirts from there, myself. Love the store, but I was looking for something with a racing theme. Preferably drag racing. Which, I know, is like asking for a needle in a haystack. LOL....

Re: Sad Weekend - Losing a Loyal Friend and Family Member

Aww, Charlie. I am sorry for your loss. I know how close we keep the furry (and feathered) ones to our hearts. She was very beautiful. You and your family will be in our hearts and prayers.:cry:

Re: bahaha now a Cavi wants to run

Thanks. You are right too. I've been pulled over a couple times, in my truck. Officer makes something up, like accusing me of running a stop sign (funny, I had time to sit there, see him, and comment...

Re: Good bye 93 SC2

I hope you don't think that Camaro is better, drive wise, than the Saturn. Not in PA where winter driving is extremely hazardous for anything RWD! No offense, I've owned several F-body cars over the...

Re: Impounded

Depends on the reason for suspension. If it's NOT supposed to be suspended, then a person has every right to be irked. But, still, the officer can't always tell one way or the other. Though I really...

Re: bahaha now a Cavi wants to run

Unfortunately, it IS a biggie if someone else happens along at the wrong time. You can hurt or kill someone else. Then there is the problem of animals crossing the road and you could have an accident...

Re: Ran my satty at the dragstrip this weekend, have questions...

LOL. Well, it sounds like you definitely got the jist of things. Just keep practicing. :) I don't know if the springs and struts (I have the same thing on my drag car) honestly made a difference. I...

Re: Am I truely alone here??????

I have Toyo's on my truck. I honestly can't complain. Better handling, better performance. Even better gas mileage. Which must mean either they are good tires or the ones I had before REALLY sucked!...

Re: Ran my satty at the dragstrip this weekend, have questions...

Stock '97 should run somewhere between 16.4-16.7. And that will vary depending on location and manual versus automatic trans.
I don't think I have the fastest Saturn, but I am the fastest female....

Re: Air dam - Safe to remove?

Pop quiz answer, IT'S A BLOODY DRAG RACE CAR!
hehehe. It doesn't even run on the regular roads anymore. She gets her mileage a 1/4 mile at a time. LOL
I was joking about my car and what I deem...

Saturn Racing Apparel

Ok, I am getting tired of having to wear other racing type shirts and hats at the race track. Most of which, I am a fan of (NHRA, Dodge, nostalgia, Nitro, etc.), but the only Saturn shirt I have is a...

Re: Ran my satty at the dragstrip this weekend, have questions...

Depends. Do you have a manual or automatic?
Lower your front tire pressure to about 28lbs, increase your rear tire pressure to about 42-45 lbs. The lower pressure in the front is for better rollout,...

Re: Air dam - Safe to remove?

Yeah, but there are, indeed, quite a few useless things on a car. I don't have my air dam. I also don't have power steering, A/C, carpet, back seat, passenger seat, horn, air bags, stereo and...

Re: Low mileage SL2 for sale. Worth looking into?

Way too much IMO. But you have to take my opinion with a grain of salt. I got my higher mileage 1996 for 500 bucks. It has manual everything though.... Didn't come with many problems (needed a...
