Re: Planning MW MISSOURI meet for 2009!

Well obviously I'll be there. Since I started these shin-digs here in MO, we've had a great time. My only regret is that nobody can afford the cash or time to do it more often. Has anyone heard...

Re: '03 L-200 what a Ride!

it has been said that if you have an L series Saturn, and the front emblem is on the hood (All early L's) then you should be afraid, and pay close attention because they're ticking time bombs.

Re: Diagnosing clicking sound from head

Precats, along with all other emissions systems suck. That is all.

/rant.

I'm so glad my car is not required to pass emissions testing. I can do what I please with it. I'm also glad the 99...

Re: Hunting down belt sound

Got air conditioning? The magnetic clutch on the A/C has a bad tendency to rattle a lot as it gets older....just a possibility. Power steering pumps do wierd stuff too.

I don't have either...

Re: 94 Saturn SL - Still not starting. Video -

I agree. Like I said before, in the simplest terms possible:

Incorrect timing+attempted start=bent valves. LL0/LK0/L24 Saturn engines are interference engines, leaving NO room for error. 1...

Re: Stinky Ass Exhuast Smell

If you could be a little more specific, that would be great. Were you just 1 quart low, or 2 or more? How often do you check your oil, your car does burn it you know. What does it smell like? ...

Re: 94 Saturn SL - Still not starting. Video -

If you "fixed" the timing, and you had it wrong before and were trying to start it, you probably have bent valves and no/little compression. Also, The ECTS is located on the drivers side of the...

Re: Name this part.

Crankcase ventillation hose, serves as an "in" port from your air intake for air to travel through the valve cover to the PCV valve (the other hose on the top by the oil cap) and then into the intake...

Re: After re-ring, burns even MORE oil.

Sounds like you need to get that head worked on. Maybe a good 3 or 5 angle valve job with ALL NEW valves would be in good order. Also, have the surface checked for warpage while you're at it, and...

Re: Street Scene fiberglass Hood for SC2

That is all.

Re: What does this plug go too???

My 91 SL2 had it, and I won't lie, it was nice. But now that I've been driving on a manual rack for the past 2 years, I must say, I prefer the feeling of having to do the turning myself, and in a...

Re: Installed new clutch, wth?

No it's not necessary. And what splines? The fingers? Because splines are inside the clutch and that's all. No lube should be anywhere near your clutch, period.

Clutches operate on friction,...

Re: Most interesting Saturn I've seen.

Oh dear god. It's front wheel drive! And even if you did, the frame isn't made to handle any weight like that. AND, even if it could, the suspension can't. AND even if THAT could, the powertrain...

Re: Why did/would you purchase an Autotragic Transmission?

Saturn automatics are counter shaft design, just like the manual ones. They don't, IIRC, have a front pump for lube, but rather rely on the diff to sling the lube around the case just like a manual...

Re: *OFFICIAL* SPRING Missouri Area Meet...

Around 89 cents a pound if it's pure. You'd have to scrap everything on the block including, of course, the sleeves, and clean it up if you want to scrap it for full price. With the sleeves in it,...

Lol, no. #1 rod cap bolt AND nut came through the block just below and through the thermostat outlet housing. Gushing oil and coolant. Not the worst I've seen, but the funnest, I think. Running...

Re: New Official Saturn Owner!!!

The one wire sensors went away with OBD2 IIRC. 95-6+ are all single sensor 2 wire. And yeah, definitely change it. And don't go by factory tire pressure either, unless you're running that exact...

Buns. definitely. So matt's driving his mom's coupe? If not, one of us could pick him up easily. Did he tell you we smoked the block I gave him? It was fun while it lasted. Now he needs to...
