Re: Another radiator thread

Thanks!

I purchased some xtreme heat steel reinforced epoxy putty and am draining the radiator now. The leak seems to be coming from the petcock itself ( out the drain hole). I dont see any...

Re: Another radiator thread

I wasn't considering this particular problem to be a parts failure. FWIW the radiator was replaced after the collision. The water pump and tensioner (both OEM) along with multiple upper strut mounts...

Re: Another radiator thread

Not all the time. I replaced the water pump sometime in the vicinity of 150,000 miles. The replacement part made it about 5 years and around 35K before failing with a loud rattling noise and spewing...

Another radiator thread

So.... I've replaced my radiator twice in my 1993 SW2. I remember replacing it sometime around 2013 or so with a Silla replacement. Then in June of 2018 this happened...

Dummo is correct, SF user ehuntress got the museum choice award. Registered attendees of the event are given ballots to vote for the "people's choice" award. Another award is given which is voted on...

Re: Smug pump - Saturn SL2 2001

:D

To the OP, it's a SMOG pump. Unless it's being cheeky.

Re: Extinct Car Day at Larz Anderson Museum 2019

Our record was six. If everyone who says they're coming with a S-series car actually makes it, we'll have an impressive array.

1) cityhawk with Rozzie, the 1993 SW2 art car
2) Dummo with his 1997...

Re: knock sensor

Ok... so then why the knocking? It even knocks occasionally when starting the engine, though doesn't generally knock at normal operating loads/speeds. It just knocks under light load at low to...

knock sensor

Hi gang,

My car (1993 SW2) knocks more than it should. It is generally at lower RPMs under some load, but my understanding is that the knock sensor attempts to retard the timing to eliminate...

Re: Tie rod end replacement

Thanks!

I blasted it with my propane torch until it glowed red in places, then went to run a few errands. When I lifted the car and got under it, it was cool. It didn't budge at first, but...

Re: Exhaust flange gaskets

It seems as though Walker 31559 fits the manifold flange. Does 31553 fit the Cat-to Cat-back flange?

Re: What year did they change

I have a 1993 and it goes to the subframe. I believe 1994 was the year that it was moved, which makes sense since the subframe changed in 1994.

Exhaust flange gaskets

Hi,

I am trying to replace the gasket between the catalytic converter and the cat-back system (I have a Thermal R&D system, but that shouldn't matter, the cat converter is what it is, and the...
