Re: Fog lights on second gen Saturn's..not a popular option???

The 880 bulb the S-Series use's is a joke. Even worse because the entire fog light housing is plastic and, at this point, a minimum of 16 years of road grime/sanding "old" and virtually useless.

Re: Questions about repairs after collision

Adjusters go by fully qualified body shop rates ($100's per hour) using NOS or otherwise OEM parts. There's virtually nothing left of the S-Series for either and to do a fully legal repair of the air...

Re: Factory remote start in SL2's?

At best remote start was a dealer installed accessory, it was never installed from the factory.

Re: Frankenstein's engine

Timing cover to match the head.
Timing set to match the head.
Intake/exhaust manifolds to match the head.
Keep the wire harness in the recipient car.
TTY head bolts can be reused but it's safer...

Re: So...someone "borrowed" my wheel

I believe the steel wheels use a different offset from the alloy wheels but they all interchange without issue, at least when paired with a stock size tire.

All stock alloy wheels are 15", not all...

Re: Cant shift out of park

No idea if it's a "destructive removal" or not but I always just pried it off.

Re: So...someone "borrowed" my wheel

They might be the most common *shrugs*
Here's a list of all the 4x100 cars out there :D
https://www.wheel-size.com/pcd/4x100/

Just because it's on the list doesn't mean it'll fit the S-Series,...

Re: So...someone "borrowed" my wheel

Pretty much every small car ever use's the 4x100 lug pattern. The only "gotcha" with the S-Series is the stupid-large hub...hard to find wheels to fit the S-Series but they fit on darn near...

Re: 99 Saturn SL2 engine hesitation, now won’t start

The fuel pump will still prime the system for the first 3-5 seconds of KOEO, the PCM just won't fire the injectors. There's a test port in the IPJB to probe with a 12v light which will light up when...

Re: How to pull the engine?

12/10 do not recommend messing with the cradle bolts in the rust belt without, at a minimum, hardened steel cutting tools (special sawzall blades & 4+inch cut-off wheels) and preferably a welder as...

Re: Diff pin questions

IMO it's totally overblown.
I took a '94 MP2 5spd with 155k on it, beat the tar out of it in a modified '93 SL2 for ~15k miles with plenty of wheelspin in the snow then moved it to various other...

Re: How to pull the engine?

Even not knowing what you're doing there's not much reason to take more than a day to pull it. I got to where I could do a full engine swap in about 7 hours, without power tools (air impact wouldn't...

Re: Screeching sound in steering column

IIRC there's a hard plastic shell around the joint where the column goes through the firewall with rubber grommets/sleeves on either end. That's the only place I can think of for it to make that...

Re: removing rear speaker cover for SC 2nd gen?

Fold the seat backs down, remove 2 push pins they revel and pull the cover off. You might have to remove the C-Pillar covers too.

Re: Cant shift out of park

Take the braided wire cable off the shifter, not just the electrical plug. Not the safest thing in the world (can shift no matter the key status) but safer than my aunts ex-landlord who thought it a...

Re: What am I looking at in this picture? (on the underbody)

The A/C drain is in the middle of the firewall, low enough on the bottom it loves to clog up and make water do strange things in its quest to exit the car.

Re: Low RPM turning power steering wheel

Not sure who/where told you the switch was on the rack, they are morons. It's only on the DOHC PS Pump '91-'02 and only activates when going over 55mph to remove power assist. It has no other effect...

Re: What's the " best" year S-series?

Kinda depends on what you want. If you want pure performance then a 1st gen SL2 is best with a 1st gen SC2 a close second (SC2 has better turning radius but "stock" options means it's often heavier...

Re: Got a new 97 SL2. Alarm question.

The '97-'99 alarm module is built into the key fob system ('96 didn't get alarm functionality). You can disable the security features from it and just have it lock/unlock using this guide:...

Re: FOB unlocks wont lock doors, 00 SW2

As far as I know everything you could do in 2nd gens for the RKE via the key is now handled by the BCM and a Tech II with the Saturn specific module.

Also as far as I know *not* locking/unlocking...

Re: HELP! Can't get strut back on car!

Pretty sure if you can't pop the nuts off, toss the bracket on and re-assemble you didn't do it right in the first place.

Re: HELP! Can't get strut back on car!

You have to man handle it, not expect it to simply fall together. Not sure why.

Get the bottom wedged in, wiggle the joint around to get the top to swing in. Get the bottom bolt to slide into...

Re: 00 SW2 ODO stuck at 100,560 miles, bad BCM?

Re: Questions about breaks

IIRC the S-Series do have rather soft feeling brakes compared to most other cars but I was still able to lock up somewhat sticky 205/45R17's on pavement with a '96 SC2.
