Re: 93 into a 99

Swap the sensors & injectors over, keep the '93 exhaust manifold & downpipe and locate a EGR adapter from 1994 California Emission S-Series.

If the '99 has the air-pump in the exhaust manifold you...

Re: saturn fender emblem replacement

My experience with the 7mm screws holding the liner to the fender says the head will just snap off no matter what you do.
It may prove easier, certainly less likely to break hardware, to open the...

Re: 2001 bumblebee!!!!! With 49 miles on it.

At least the '01's don't have too much for rubber vacuum lines with plastic fittings and rubber grommets to turn to crap making the engine not run simply because the car is 10 years old and the...

Re: Do you align your car yourself?

Last shop I went to spent nearly an hour swapping out 2 bolts that shouldn't have been an issue and spent nearly 2hrs total on the rear alone and then claimed the front wheels had to come off to...

Re: 99 sc turboed

Most use Megasquirt nowadays which appears to be about the same cost while being an actual stand-alone PCM solution rather than a piggy-back system.
Best bet for Saturn specific help is here:...

Re: bubble flares on brakes

I don't remember it being all that hard or expensive to make & bend the front driver side line. Think I just did a double flare, or part of it, though. Never had a leak with it and the brakes got...

Re: 2002 Sc2 front sway bar lubricant

The rear/firewall side ones are super easy to fix no matter what happens. The front/radiator side ones you'll have to do something similar to what I did to my Outback when it all goes wrong. I still...

Re: making basic toolkit for SL2

I've seen people use standard tools on the S-Series but I don't understand why. It's all metric. 6pt unless otherwise mentioned.
5.5mm thin wall for steering wheel column cover (either nut-driver or...

Re: Rear and Trunk Lights not coming on

Are you expecting lights from a panel that doesn't have lights from the factory? :usa:

Looks like you've just turned on the parking lights and/or headlights. Brake lights won't come on until you...

Re: Lost reverse

MP7 is the DOHC automatic, not SOHC. Might make it work after a couple weeks worth of hours playing with MegaShift (http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/4L60e.html)

Not sure on the mount, thought...

Re: headliner Drop v.2

I wouldn't want to do it twice if I didn't have to and certainly not in a 4door that the headliner doesn't nicely fit through the doorways on like it does the coupes.

I tried Jo-Ann Fabrics...

Re: Clutch pedal pressure

Compared to Subaru's, a '91-'99 clutch is fairly weak and I'm told '00-'02 is even weaker (heck, compared to a '78 F250 with cable clutch you can clutch with 1 finger in an S-Series...). If you go...

Re: Can't find replacement bolts

!@#$%^&* edit window (>.<)

"a bunch" appears to be exactly 4. Cleaned up a little bit with a wire wheel. Nuts thread on the bolts fine. T55 is the right size.

Re: Can't find replacement bolts

Think I still have a bunch of them, I'll go find a decent spot to dump out my box o' bolts.

Re: raising my compression ratio.

DOHC and transmission swap, depending on source, is under $500 (especially if it's a crashed DOHC, they're pretty much worth $200/ton at that point). A new head alone is over $200, the gaskets bolts...

Re: Major HP Increase with Scan tool connected

I would think the only difference in 2nd and 3rd gen ICM's is the 3rd gen's have extra threaded holes for the spark plug retainer thing (because we all know how often the plug wires, when properly...

Re: Saturn speed

'93 SL2 with bolt-on's, MP2 transmission, 205/50R15 tires, '94 SC2 5spd PCM, buried the speedometer at 127mph a couple times. Stock PCM & automatic it'd stop at a measly 115mph.
'96 SC2 with a '92...

Re: 1999 Saturn SC1 Paint Codes

Stock/factory paint code for any S-Series is on the option sticker on the spare tire cover in the trunk/hatch. There should be a VIN also printed on it so you can match the cover to the car. The WA...

Re: 2001 SL wheel bearing problems

One of the things I think I finally did after 5 bearings in 5k miles was replace the knuckle with one I had laying around that didn't have a bearing noise/feel issue. Had a new bearing put in that,...

Re: wheel bearing noise

Any time I've had a bearing done it was one at a time and when a shop did it they either didn't need to do an alignment or rolled the charge into the overall labor charge, but the total cost varied...
