Re: I went to check on a issue with my parking brake but found something way worse..

Nice job! That area will need some attention on my 1993 SW2, but I've slowed down the rot with some POR15. I'm working on the floors this year.

Re: Windshield washer

Thanks for the tips all. I decided to go with the AC Delco from RA. as Preston says, the FLAPS units seem to be their own (or who knows what) brand. I don't have time to go to a junkyard now (are...

Re: Parking brake cables

Thanks Mac. I decided to go with the AC Delco without having a good enough reason to go with the Raybestos. :)

Re: Windshield washer

Thanks! I figured. One thing, all the photos of the pumps in RA just show wires coming off of the pump and not the connector for the wire-connector seen in my photo. I don't know if anyone has bought...

Re: Parking brake cables

Anyone have a feel for AC Delco vs Raybestos? Aren't they both made in China these days?

Re: Coolant recovery tank plumbing

I was having it with the spring clamp. Now I have two clamps (one of each) on the hose and it seems to be working for now.

Re: Parking brake cables

It could be. My ABS hasn't worked in a number of years.

Re: Parking brake cables

Thanks guys.

Any reason not to go with the AC Delco units on this list (https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/saturn,1993,sw+wagon,1.9l+l4+dohc,1267017,brake+&+wheel+hub,parking+brake+cable,1696)?...

Re: Windshield washer

It stopped working when the whole top (round) plate came off of the unit itself, so it's not the connector. I stuck it back on, but there's nothing to hold it firmly in place and whatever contacts...

Re: exhaust manifold-to-head studs

Thanks Greg1!

And 454cid, I don't know. I can't see them from my vantage point, so they didn't break off at the surface, but it's possible that they broke off further in.

There is a garage that...

Windshield washer

So, after removing the washer reservoir several times to attend to a coolant leak around the overflow tank, the electrical thing that sits in the front of the washer tank came off. I pressed it back...

Coolant recovery tank plumbing

In the never-ending pursuit of stopping all coolant leaks, I had one coming from the vicinity of the tank. Unable to see exactly where the leak was coming from, I purchased a new tank anyway. At...

exhaust manifold-to-head studs

For some reason two of mine are missing. I'm inclined to replace them all with stainless steel studs/nuts. Does anyone know the correct size/thread of these studs?

Parking brake cables

I did a search on threads on this topic, and didn't see any newer than 2015. I know there has been an inconsistency on parts and lengths.

My car: 1993 SW2, ABS with rear disks.

The right cable...

Re: Another radiator thread

I would have tried the Denso, but didn't see it at first and my Spectra is already shipped. Hopefully I get a few years out of it anyway.

Re: Another radiator thread

Thanks! I was going to try some JB Weld, but my local FLAPS had the stuff I mentioned in a previous post. I left it to dry overnight and will cross my fingers tomorrow that it either (A) doesn't leak...

Re: Another radiator thread

Thanks!

I purchased some xtreme heat steel reinforced epoxy putty and am draining the radiator now. The leak seems to be coming from the petcock itself ( out the drain hole). I dont see any...

Re: Another radiator thread

I wasn't considering this particular problem to be a parts failure. FWIW the radiator was replaced after the collision. The water pump and tensioner (both OEM) along with multiple upper strut mounts...

Re: Another radiator thread

Not all the time. I replaced the water pump sometime in the vicinity of 150,000 miles. The replacement part made it about 5 years and around 35K before failing with a loud rattling noise and spewing...

Another radiator thread

So.... I've replaced my radiator twice in my 1993 SW2. I remember replacing it sometime around 2013 or so with a Silla replacement. Then in June of 2018 this happened...

Re: Smug pump - Saturn SL2 2001

:D

To the OP, it's a SMOG pump. Unless it's being cheeky.
