Re: An interesting brake rotor conundrum

Are you sure the rotors are correct part#? It's been a while since I have seen a saturn rotor, but the hat part looks big.

Re: Removing AC pump serpentine belt changes?

Why are you removing the compressor? You can just unplug it and use the belt you have.

Re: '97 SW1 A/C doesn't do anything

Whatever you do... do not use R134a with leak stop in it. Use pure R134a only.

Re: AC Refuses to be fixed

If you do not remove all of the moisture (which you need a good two stage vacuum pump to do)then the sealer that is in the product will begin to react with the moisture. This will gum up your system....

Re: Mystery of the recurring check engine light

Perhaps leaky intake gasket. Shrinkage do to cold temperature may be the reason. Just a guess in the dark

Re: Mystery of the recurring check engine light

To determine if the coils are to blame, switch then around. If the error code still p0341 then the coils are fine.

Re: Service light only on when AC is off

Spray some carb cleaner around the intake manifold where it meet the cylinder head. If the idle changes, you have a leak and have to replace the gasket.

Are you sure your battery and alternator is fine? Get them tested at the auto parts store.

Re: Sl2 A/C specs

If it was leaking then you do not need to flush it. I would only change the drier and the compressor. For the warranty on the rebuilt compressor may require changing the EXV, but it a PITA to...

Re: Sl2 A/C specs

What do you mean by a compressor failure. If you think the internals of the compressor were damaged you going to have to flush the system. If not, it will fail soon. Then you can add the oil...

Re: Sl2 A/C specs

The replacement of the oil and Refrigerant depend on what you are repairing. 5 oz of oil is added to a clean system. That requires a flushing. Whether you flush or not depends on what part failed....

Re: intermittant black/grey smoke and low mpg
