Re: 2005 Ion vs 1997 Honda Accord

Never liked the '94 - '97 Accord, never will. I put it in the same category as the '92 - '96 Prelude...total suckage. :)

Re: Dumpin the Ion for an Si

Confirmed. I don't know why they would swap the exact same engine. ???

Not that it matters to most of you, but comparing performance and features, the current Si blows mine completely out of the...

Re: Dumpin the Ion for an Si

Now that's the smartest thing anyone has said in this thread! :D

Considering the high interest rates on new cars in 1989, and my insurance which soon skyrocketed the $3,600/year, I wish I had...

Re: Dumpin the Ion for an Si

Asinity, I apologize for my rude "tone" in my first post. I was in a bad mood when I posted, can you tell? :) Seriously, I'm sorry about that.

Re: Dumpin the Ion for an Si

If I were the tuner type, I wouldn't buy the Honda. From what I've read, the Ecotec engine is a good solid engine that can take mods well. I'm impressed by the power and smoothness of the ones I've...

Re: Dumpin the Ion for an Si

Nothing strange about that. Torque almost always relates to displacement. Displacement = torque (unless blown), it's not rocket science. :)

Want more torque for under $20k? Go buy a Mustang V6......

Re: VUE vs. competitors

Between the GM 2.2L and the Honda 3.5L, I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Styling is subjective, but IMO the VUE looks better than the rest...

Re: Daewoo G2X = Saturn SKY with a different badges...

I can understand platform sharing (i.e. Solstice and SKY), but don't cars that share a platform usually at least have some cosmetic differences? Maybe it doesn't matter in this case if we get the SKY...

Of course this is old news. But I wonder, is GM doing this to try to give Daewoo in Korea a better image?...

Re: Saturn sold out to another Import (a shame)

I had a neighbor with an orange colored Opel but it didn't run so I was never able to get a ride in it. It was neat looking car. I wonder if he ever got it running.

Re: You don't think your car is Asian, do you?

I have one non-immediate family member who thinks Saturn is Korean. Some others probably think it's Japanese.

I'm sure when we finally get the VUE I'm going to hear, "Mark's buying that Jap crap...

Re: Ion left in the dust......

My neighbor had a tan on tan leather 1st gen SC, really sharp. Ever since then I've resented Honda for not offering leather in the higher model Civics.

Re: Ion left in the dust......

This kinda worries me. Anyone else think, styling-wise at least, that the VUE is perfect the way it is now?

Edit: IMO it's going to be hard following up this...
