Re: 22 years!
Way to go, Mike!
Now that's staying power, even though the mileage is on the lower side, not even 10K miles per year.
By the summer of 2022, your Saturn could qualify for historic registration....

Re: 21 years old!
Mike NW, In four years, your Saturn will qualify for classic car status in many states, if not all of them.

Re: XR gear ratios?
Final drive ratio: 2.77:1, same as the V6 powered Malibu LT. That is the standard that is provided directly from GM.
As this transmission is shared with Ford, there were many applications, from...

Re: Saturn Goldmine
Four counted. And to think this was a two-minute news segment. The fifty second mark had two, but you'll miss the first Saturn (a white SC) if your attention is on the motorcycle cop pulling in...

Re: Bonehead Saturn Craigslist find of the day
Why do people make this mistake? That's an LW300!:ugh:

The car is fine. It's just not an S-Series. That's what makes it a bonehead find....

Re: GM sells Opel to Peugeot (Opel Astra)
I'm old enough to remember Buick-Opel's first appearance in North America and the Isuzu connection as well.
Did not like the early '90s Pontiac LeMans at all. That was a disgrace to the name. ...

Re: GM sells Opel to Peugeot (Opel Astra)
GM's departure is Ford's gain. Ford hasn't left Europe. In fact, they brought the S550 Mustang over to complement the Ka/Fiesta/Focus/Mondeo in 2015.
All indications to me suggest that GM...

Re: GM sells Opel to Peugeot (Opel Astra)
An interesting theory. A potential European lineup is certain to exclude the Impala, Traverse and the full-sized SUVs/trucks. The Colorado might have to be certified for a 2.0L SIDI turbo Ecotec in...

Re: GM sells Opel to Peugeot (Opel Astra)
PSA was after Opel's electric technology in addition to increased market share in Europe; they are playing catch-up to the Renault/Nissan-Daimler alliance on both counts.
Parts availability...

Re: Does GM really need two brands of trucks?
Indeed, "professional grade" advertising and the Denali sub-brand is what helps to differentiate a GMC from a Chevy given their similarities under the skin. Chevy could never get away with that kind...

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!
https://longisland.craigslist.org/cto/6035751710.html
Very clean for an approximately fifteen year old vehicle (the build date would be on the driver or passenger door) and 126K miles is not a lot...

Re: Does GM really need two brands of trucks?
I don't think GM does, but surprisingly there is a contingent of truck buyers who want an up-level truck without having to pay Cadillac-like transaction prices and Chevy's not quite what they're...

Re: If Saturn was still in business....
I don't see a place for Saturn in GM's new automotive order.
Chevy = volume
Buick/GMC = upgrade
Cadillac = premium
I still think GM should shrink to two brands, either Chevy/Buick-GMC...

Re: If Saturn was still in business....
The Captiva Sport looked similar to the Vue, but was not the Vue of the late aughts. The European Opel on which the Captiva Sport was based was restyled for 2010.
Chevy put the Captiva (2012-15)...

Re: Gas price around the country?
2.15/gal and cost $34.50 to fill up my Altima . That's not a typo. 34.50 for 16.5 gallons of 87 octane regular. I never thought I'd see the day that happened again. A used S or ION would...
