I add a qt of ATF in with all oil changes on all vehicles for the last 40 years and have never had to have any engine opened for any repairs, never.

Just by looking at that photo, I'd bet that your trans drain and filter replacement is long overdue.
I've not seen a Genuine Saturn trans filter in a long time.
Still, it & the fluid change may...

Sounds like the DIS module is the culprit, and needs replacement with a NEW ICM, not a known good one.

Here is a link whereby they list the recommended automatic transmission drain and refill at 30K. USE ONLY DEXRON III compatible fluid, not any other DEXRON or else you will regret using it in place...

Judging by that last comment, having to go up from underneath, I am presuming you don't keep up with changing the transmission fluid and filter on a 30K mile basis, correct?

What is the fluid level in the tranny, what type tranny fluid do you use, and when was the last time you drained the tranny and replaced the spin on filter?

Is it possible, that in reality, the engine did seize due to lack of OIL?

But that's understandable, this coilovers aren't done for more comfort, but really only for the racing circuit folks who really care about getting through the race turns, not pleasure drives.

No, never. Have you ever tried replacing the flexible hose heading into the caliper? Sometimes, that hose gets, well it's like the interior diameter narrows down, IDK if its an internal wall swelling...

Just offhand, what gas mileage do you normally experience, and has it been going down at all?

If you were to consider scrapping, why not try something that I have used with true success on a Dodge...
