Re: LW200: Install a transmission pan drain plug???

If you plan on clearing up crap the transmission, surely dropping the pan and CHANGING THE FILTER makes the same sense as changing the fluid?
Don;t forget with the L seris, there is NO transmission...

Re: Outrun by a 18pass minivan 95 lw2

Wrong forum. The L series didn't come out until 2000. You must have an S Series Wagon which is an SW. You need to repost in the corrcet forum. That way you will get accurate responses.

Re: Brake Fluid change

You can buy a cheap bleed kit from the autostores or just use a length of clear hose and a jam jar. It's not complicated, it's not rocket science, just being methodical. Don't over think or over...

Re: Front strut replacement L300

The Saturn L series shares many elements with the Saab 9-5 and the Opel/Vauxhall Vectra in Europe. The L series is basically a Vectra that made the journey across the pond and had some cosmetic...

Re: Need a battery

The things you need to be looking for in the battery is a) the warranty and b) the Cold Crank Capacity c) the best price to accomplish a & b. The latter should be bigger to be better. Forget about...

Re: Dashboard lifting fix?

It's just the dash top that has warped slightly. As I mentioned in an earlier post my son's SL2 has the exact same issue. I have removed the dash top more than once and I know about the spring clip...

Re: Dashboard lifting fix?

The same has happened on my son's 2002 SL2. It's just bad design and nickle & diming. The tab on the dash cowl is supposed to be held in place in the indents on the soft padded dash top. That's the...

Re: Getting code u2105

Before you can propose a solution, you have to know what the problem is. Your car is telling you code U2105. You need to find out what this code means. Once you know the fault, then you can determine...

Re: Looking for a GM Tech/Specialist

Now all you have to worry about is the dashboard top fracture cracking in multiple places!

It's a well known issue on the last version of the Suburban (the one you just bought). GM know about it...

Re: trans shifts hard

Your Saturn has 2 check lights. One is the "Check Engine" light, the other is the "Wrench" light. The Check Engine light will illuminate when a code is thrown that is EMISSIONS related. The Wrench...

Re: Possible LS2 Starter Issue

I don't know the answer to this but is there a fusible link in the starter motor cable? If there is it may have done it's job as designed and melted.

Re: lug nut covers

May I make the following suggestion.....

The faux lug nuts are held in place by the spring nature of the multi clips in the lug nut molding on the rear of the cover. You can pop these faux lug...

Re: Spark plug ceramic tip broken in engine

This thread sounds more like the Greatest Story every told as each day unfolds. LOL

Just a small suggestion...instead of lathering dielectric grease all over the plugs, why not just put a small...

Re: 2000 Saturn Ls1 Fuel sending Unit

Excuse me guys for butting in, but I see folks suggesting removing wires from the coil to check for spark.

The 4 pot Saturn, like the V6 has coil packs or ignition cassetes as some like to call...

Re: cooling system quandary

Just a 5 cents here....

You said within a few minutes of running the engine, the Low Coolant Light comes on and stays on.

First thing I would do is OVERfill the coolant reservoir so you know...

Re: Nice oil filter wrench

Back in the late 1960's when I got my car back in the UK, it was a Mini. It's was what most young uns cut their teeth on. The oil filter in those days was would you believe not very different to the...

Re: 2000 LS1 intermittent starting issues

Just my 5 cents worth as well.
How old is the Starter?
Sometimes Starters can develop a 'flat spot' on the armature. When the starter stops on a flat spot, the contacts don't contact and you get a...

I would agree with Pierrot. it's gonna be unlikely this vehicle has a full service history and all invoices included.

I used this link to find some of the U codes

Re: hoping it's not the valve cover gasket

Try a turkey baster or absorbent rags tied firmly to something that will slide down the tube, like a slim screwdriver.

You first of all need to decide which Saturn you have. You have 2 posts that state on the subject line LS2 and in the body of your posts including this one you state you have an SL2. Which is it?

Re: hoping it's not the valve cover gasket

I just did the exact same job on my son's 2002 SL2 about 1 month ago.

It's a valve cover gasket, so I bought the DNJ cover set from RA (VC312G). It may not be a Felpro, etc, but it works for me...
