Re: Windshield wipers won't turn off 1998 Saturn SC2

Sorry for posting this question before I did some research.

I see from previous posts in this forum that there is a logic board in the wiper motor that goes bad, so the motor must be replaced.

Windshield wipers won't turn off 1998 Saturn SC2

Hi,

My windshield wipers had been acting oddly for awhile now. The intermittent setting saw the wipers change speed on their own. Then the feature stopped working and now the wipers stay on...

Re: Ugh! Glue and Tape will hold it together.

The same thing happened to me when I tried to change the bulb in my dome light. The entire fixture came apart and I broke the clips in the base.
I found it almost impossible to remove the clear...

Re: One less S-series on the road

The same thing happened to me 2 months ago. I was rear-ended and my 1989 Honda Civic with 420,000 km's was caved in.
Everyone told me I would get just a few hundred bucks for the car, but I gave...

Re: possible tranmission problem?

Well, I found out from my mechanic that dexron VI was used in my transmission fluid change. He called a transmission repair shop that he deals with, and they told him that this was fine. Well, I...

Re: possible tranmission problem?

My mechanic changed the fluid for me. I read the back of the bottle and read that it's compatible with dexron III. I will go there after work and make sure it wasn't dexron VI.
The stuff I used to...

It was dexron. I read the back of the bottle to make sure it was compatible with transmissions that required dexron III.

possible tranmission problem?

Hi,
I've had a 1998 Saturn SC2 for about 2 months. It has an automatic transmission. Approximately 137,000 miles.
Yesterday, I backed the car up immediately after starting it and when I put the...

passenger side shoulder belt presenter

Hi,
I noticed today that the passenger side shoulder belt presenter is broken on my 1998 SC2. Has anyone had any experience with these annoying gizmos?
Do you guys bother replacing them if they...

Re: Terrible Mileage

Hi, you mention km's so are you in Canada? When I first got my SC2 I was very dismayed with the gas mileage. Then I started to use Shell gas. I immediately got at least a 5 miles per gallon bump that...

Re: Twitchy when driving straight

I have the exact same twitchy effect when I am highway driving. Exactly like the OP described- feels like wind buffeting the car.
My car has 195/60r15 tires, but they aren't all the same. Two...

Re: Green liquid dripping from tailpipe

Our gas stations here have up to 10% ethanol in the gas. Premium doesn't have this but I use Shell regular gas in my car. I found that Shell really improved the mileage I was getting with my Honda.

Re: Green liquid dripping from tailpipe

Sounds good oldNuc. I'll have this done on Friday. I hope it improves the gas mileage as I'm not impressed so far. I think I'm getting at least 5 miles per gallon less than I should be getting.

Well, racinblood, you are spot-on correct. I drove around Saturday morning and was forced to drive though some snow to get into a restaurant parking lot. Afterwards is when I first noticed the green...

Re: Green liquid dripping from tailpipe

So far in my situation I'm not seeing any oil in the coolant reservoir, or coolant in the engine oil. The oil is not dropping and I've driven about 1000 miles. No smoke whatsoever. The coolant is not...

[QUOTE=OldNuc;1951538]If there is something that looks like antifreeze issuing from the tail pipe then the level in the reservoir must also go down. Carefully check reservoir cold level each morning...

Re: Green liquid dripping from tailpipe

I'm afraid now that they will try to bluff or scam me. That's why I want to have my long-term regular mechanic check out the car first. I'm afraid the car lot will do something to correct it in the...

Re: Green liquid dripping from tailpipe

I've only had the car for 2 weeks as I bought it from a used car lot in St.Catharines. The reservoir bottle was a little overfilled from the beginning, over the full line half an inch or so.
Now, I...
