Re: transmission swap

Its the same transmission, same ratios, etc...

In fact they are a pretty crappy fit for any of the cars its used in...GM's one manual transmission to rule them all strategy of cost savings.

What I'm left with is...why is the problem tied to throttle angle and rpm? I can sail right thru my trouble zone with no misfire if I am gentle on the gas. What if its the throttle or some...

Re: low rpm misfire

Took everything back apart last night. Wanted to see if I missed something. Far left plug slightly different color than the others...same jug that had the plug with the missing electrode tip...what...

Hoping someone here has encountered this before...I have a low rpm-under 2200rpm- misfire. Occassionally it will stumble at idle. Above 2200 it runs fine, any gear, no matter how much throttle you...

Re: Poor traction

Are you 16-25? New driver?

Seriously, you are completely wrong. I live in Wisconsin, my vue has no abs, no tc, no awd, no nothing. I can tell you from actual experience- The rears of the car,...

Re: Poor traction

Regardless of the vehicle, or FWD vs RWD, put the ones with more tread in the rear. It does make a difference in terms of keeping the vehicle from rotating in slippery conditions. Obviously new...

Re: Retrofitted Seat, Shifter, and Other Mods

I have the same head unit as you...nice stereo for the 35 bucks it cost me. Also, i have my phone mounted similarly, but without a mount...my G4 sits perfectly in the gap between the bezel and the...

Re: possible prelude to a starting problem?

Check the battery. My VUE did this occassionally for over the last year. I had though it was the starter binding, but turned out the battery - original- to the vehicle no less, was kaput. Not bad...

Re: (request) how to paint the bumpers and side skirts cheaply?

The paint will wear hideously. It will pick up dirt at an accellerated rate, and chips and peeling, even with the 'made for plastic' paints. I did this on the rockers of my Jeep Grand Cherokee, and...

Re: Looking to buy an 07 Vue 2.2 5M what to look for

Mine broke twice...first the end link- 40 dollar part bought me 2+ years before the cable itself went- it will fail in the section that comes out of the casing in the interior...where the cable...

Re: Anyone add gauges to their Vue?

An Android, a 20 dollar Bluetooth OBDII dongle, and a 5dollar play store app called Torque will let you ad a TON of gauges very cheaply that can be reconfigured or changed very easily. I even thru...

Re: Looking for a VUE

Your heavier V6 should have an advantage...its FWD afterall. Its likely your tires...or driving style. We had nearly 15" fall yesterday...wet sloppy snow at that, and I made it to work(granted, the...

Re: impressed

A lot of reasons...where you live, tune of the car, time of the year...I loose 2-3mpg in winter, what you haul around, and how you drive.

Where do you find a GVWR for the tranny itself?

Re: impressed

Many many years ago I owned a Pontiac Fiero with the 2.5L Iron Duke, and the economy geared 4speed(there were two different transaxles-1 close ratio, higher RPM, and one econo) manual. I kid you not,...

Re: impressed

If it comes time to do a clutch at some point I will definitely look into this. If the vehicle was struggling to maintain highway speed I would agree that the lower RPMs would equate to greater load...

Re: impressed

If you have an OBD2 scanner/reader, or the cable/bluetooth with Torque, you can really get some seemingly insane mileage. The car will, if left in gear, shutdown the injectors when you get off the...
