Re: Solder or crimp?

Except as pointed out above the FAA prohibits solder because a professional crimper is more reliable and less prone to breaking from vibration.

Re: Solder or crimp?

Same here. Soldering only allowed for avionics. Everything is crimped with approved parts and tools.
Thinking is that aircraft vibration could fail a solder.

Done right I prefer solder but crimping with a proper crimping tool is pretty fool proof and as you said you can get crimps with heat shrink ends.

Not that Iím aware of. Just wire up the speakers, steering wheel control, etc. You should be fine. There is a module you need to decode the steering wheel control.

Yea the studs should be next to nothing. Youíre just seating them. The bolt doesnít stretch until you add the nut.

Itís interesting they sell this. Is it legal to sell in some states? Here itís certainly not here since any aftermarket parts that could effect emissions must be approved by the state.

Re: 99 SL2 - 5 spd Engine/Transaxle Removal

Youíre making it way too hard. Changing the clutch is only a few hours job. Just separate the two and slide the transmission into the wheel well. No need to remove the transmission.
