Re: Sc2 convertible.

I'd look into what GM did for the Gutless Supreme's. Similar unibody style as the S-Series, coupe & 4dr body styles in addition to the convertible. Edmounds says...

Re: 2000 Saturn SL2

If manual, yes. Worst that'll happen is you lose CC.
If automatic, most likely though we'll need more info to be sure (SOHC vs DOHC....ie Model of both cars).

Re: 2000 Saturn SL2 NO Reverse

This means bottles labeled for Dex III & Mercron only.
Dex IV, Dex V and Dex VI all claim compatibility but when properly labeled they say not for Saturn S-Series as the viscosity is MUCH lower...

Re: How much for a 2001 SL2 with 130,000

If you can haul it yourself, without paying someone else or renting equipment I'd give a maximum of $300. Take any rental/towing fees out of that price if you can't haul it yourself.

Re: 1991 SC Wiring Conundrum

Canister Purge Solenoid use's a Pink w/ Black stripe and a Dark Green w/ Yellow stripe; I believe the connector is the same as the injectors and washer pump (test before soldering in case it's some...

Re: Shift Interlock

Because, in this particular case, the answer is the same regardless of engine/model/year.

Re: Shift Interlock

If you can't reach it through the cupholder hole (just pull the cupholders on '95-'99), it's a total of 4 screws to remove the center console (2 in the rear stuff holder under a blank panel and 1...

Re: Fuel system help

The FPR clips on/off in about 20 seconds; JY=junkyard.
It'd be a good idea to bring carb/brake cleaner with you to clean debris off the top so it doesn't go directly into the fuel rail with the FPR...

Re: Fuel system help

'95-'97's use an adjustable FPR, might want to verify some knucklehead hasn't fiddled with that trying to fix the low fuel pressure (not actually sure how, I'd just swap for a JY unit).

Re: 2000 Saturn SL2 DOHC not starting

These motors generally don't run with much under 140psi compression. Brand new they have 200-210psi compression.

Re: How many s series owners became ion owners

Seems silly to "deal with" the goofy dash when the Cobalt SS is the same car and the dash is in the correct place, but that's just me.

Re: '98 DOHC Head Gasket Replacment

0.0196" (0.5mm) seems to be average for getting the head back into spec while the daredevils take off 0.04" (1mm). It turns into a timing issue before it turns into a pistons contacting valves issue....

Re: How many s series owners became ion owners

I'm not sure about the Vue Redline's but I know the Ion Redline's were Supercharged I4's.
Similar to the Taurus SHO the Ion Redline's were the only Ion's worth buying.

Re: Where did my coolant disappear to?

Usually it sprays out the crack in the radiator (http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=163429) near one of the auto-transmission cooler ports. If it's high enough on the radiator you...

Re: Anyone actually used 0W20 Synthetic in their S-Series?

The S-Series motor isn't built with tolerances close enough to need the super lightweight oil so all that will happen is more oil burning, more contamination of the oil control rings and even more...

Re: 2001 SL2 repeatedly blows fuse but only at >60 mph.....

The on/off circuit for the fog lights also utilizes the park fuse.
I believe the main harness runs through the front driver side wheel well, between the engine bay and interior rather than through...

Re: Automatic to manual in a 95 DOHC

Re: Automatic to manual in a 95 DOHC

The only change in the axles were '91-'93 non-ABS require a special hub; all the rest are interchangeable (though...ABS won't work without the reluctor ring on the hub end of the axle lol)

Re: Are there any S-Series that have the GM L81 3.0L V6 Engine?

I believe there is exactly 1 S-Series with a V6 and there's nothing factory about it lol

If you find anything other than a 1.9L I4 under the hood it wasn't factory installed.

Re: Automatic to manual in a 95 DOHC

Leave all "random" large gauge yellow wires alone, they have a high likely hood to be for the air bag system, or at the very least is simply a switched +12v source.

Go back to post #2 with the...

Re: Automatic to manual in a 95 DOHC

If you don't put a fuse in the NSS connector on the auto harness OR extend it from the NSS to the proper CSS location including the CSS itself it won't start.

It's hidden fairly well on the...
