Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Took my car for a walk on Interstate 5 and pegged 40 miles per gallon. Not bad for conditions.

Re: Smoke when taking off from stop light

On my old '93 I started out with B12. That stuff will remove any protective film for the pistons/cylinders so next step I sprayed loads of PB Blaster in there for hours. Only then I bumped the engine...

Re: Smoke when taking off from stop light

I purchased my '99 in Nov 2018. Usage was about 1200 miles to the quart. I performed a Chemtool B12 engine flush. First I put on a fresh Puro Classic 20195 and idled the old oil and 8 ounces of B12...

Re: Dumbest Unintentional Thing You've Done To Your Saturn

Used Permatex gasket maker on my '93 SL2 when I serviced the valve cover. I made the mistake of not letting it cure long enough. I ordered a Felpro 50549 and all was well with the world, sold the car...

UNL88: anyone use it? Pro/con

I have a gasbuddy membership, and there is a current 'point bonus' to report UNL88 prices. This is a new term to me, it is the designation for e15. Apparently there are no stations in my area that...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

I owned my '93 SL2 for 9 years. I am one with the S-series power module.

I do not tailgate and anticipate well to minimize the need for braking. I often shift to 3 to trim speed when needed.

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

I topped off the AC with about 1/2 can of this stuff I bought on clearance many moons ago, I believe at Target. The AC was functioning (barely), just needed a few ounces top-off after 2 decades.

Re: Oil pan drain plug seat... gasket?

Dang, looks like it got a diet of quickie lube changes with a gun set at an ungodly torque setting.

Re: 97 sw with 45k

Good luck to them. I got my '99 with 77k for <1200.

I bought my '93 with 62k for 1600 and drove it for 9 years with a solid drivetrain no issues at all.

So many better options at that $4k+...

Not sure how well it would...

No piston soak yet. May be a while before doing it. Maybe never. Wait and see.
