Re: Missing Sway Bar

A rear sway bar was not factory-installed on any of the Delta platform cars (Ion, Cobalt, G5) including the high performance Ion Red Line/Cobalt SS models. These cars have a torsion beam rear...

Re: 2008 Vue headlamp adjustment screws location

The vertical adjustment screws are hidden in a hole in the radiator support on each side. There is no horizontal adjustment. I'm not sure what tool is required to turn it. I found two manual excerpts...

Re: Factory stereo interface

Please clarify.

Do you have the factory radio and intend to keep it, but looking for an interface for smartphone/Bluetooth integration?

OR

Do you want to replace the radio and are just...

Re: intermittent p0128

:hothead:

A bad thermostat that stays open causes the engine operating temperature to stay lower than it should or at the very least take significantly longer for the engine to warm up. A bad...

Re: Need help finding snap ring (circlip)

I see what you're talking about, but you can disregard the top line that says CVT. The diagram lists the parts for all the different transmissions so it is correct.

Re: Need help finding snap ring (circlip)

It appears to be a very generic part.

The Saturn part number is 22759191, and it interchanges with GM part number 90121202. In other words, the two parts are identical despite having different...

Re: Uncontrolled acceleration

Which "tube" did you remove the moisture from? The only two vacuum hoses on the Ion's 2.2L are the PCV line going from the valve cover to the air intake housing above the throttle body and the brake...

Re: Coolant warning replaced tank

No, the coolant level sensor is just a float coupled to a switch that opens the circuit when the coolant level gets low.

Re: Coolant warning replaced tank

I'm not sure how cold it is where you're at, but ethylene glycol alone freezes at about 8F, so you definitely want to get some water in there soon. A ratio of 50/50 is generally recommended, but the...

Re: New stock/oem seats?

The OP's car will have an occupancy sensor (for the passenger side airbag) in the front passenger's seat lower cushion. They could probably power wash the seat off without a problem, but I can't...

Re: Oooops Ive done it again...

The wiper transmission linkage probably broke. GM used plastic ends to link the metal parts together on the linkage. These commonly break on the Cobalt, G5, Ion, and HHR. The only solution is to...

Re: Stronger cigarette lighter receptacle?

Each power ports has a 15A fuse in them like fdryer said, and they don't share said fuses with any other circuits/loads. This means each port can handle about a 180 watt load. I would not rely on...

Re: Starter Wiring

Technically, they're all positive. :D

The small wire (switched +12V ignition lead; it should be a purple wire) gets connected to the small terminal. It doesn't matter which of the large terminals...

How could said good mechanic provide said advice if they were not aware of the problem? The OP stated their vehicle didn't exhibit any symptoms. I don't know any mechanic that proactively looks for...

Re: Dashboard Warning -Exclamation Point (on the RPM meter?)

Check your owner's manual. Most likely your brake fluid level is low. If this is the case, it would also be a good idea to check the wear on your brake pads.

Re: Need new tires

To each their own, but I shy away from second-tier tire brands like Multi-Mile, Milestar, Hercules, Kelly, or GT Radial. Having said that, new tires of any brand are better than worn or bald tires.

Re: New used climate control module

No difference.

2003-2005 are the same
2006-2007 are the same
2003-2005 and 2006-2007 are not interchangeable

If you have no illumination you either have a module with all bad bulbs (possible,...

Re: Saturn engine swap

Why not just rebuild the 2.0L or find a used replacement? The only Saturn V6 is the 181 HP 3.0L V6. This is definitely NOT an upgrade. The 255 HP Honda V6 used in the 2004-2007 Vue puts out more...

Re: Is a 2003 Vue Instrument Cluster compatible with 00-02 S-Series

Short answer: Yes, the cluster you have will fit in the VUE. The 2005-2006 Equinox and 2006 Torrent clusters are compatible.

The cluster you have must be from a 2006 Torrent. There's no such thing...

Re: Rev Hang

The OP's car doesn't have drive-by-wire. The 2005-2007 2.2L Ions have it, but 2003-2004 2.2L Ions still use a cable-modulated throttle body.

As far as the OP's car goes, I know exactly what they...
