Re: stuck cd

What you are talking about above with the hole and inserting an open paper clip is used for CD drives in a computer where the drive has a tray that extends out (during opening and closing).
On our...

Re: Drivers floor mat question 2008 Vue

Nope...no extra parts involved.

The circular plastic ring in the mat simply snaps over the post on the carpet.
It's basically there to just help prevent the mat from shifting up towards the...

We replaced the OEM Bridgestone Duelers with the BFG Long Trail Tours about 5k miles ago.
Steering response is nice & sharp & we were looking for some better bad weather traction.
Very satisfied...

Yes......the metallic red. Ours is the same color.

Ours happens to be an XR with...

Re: transmission fluid change

Pls note on the above and in the manual....

The 50k trans fluid change (footnote h) is for "severe service" as defined.

For "normal service", the interval is actually 100k miles.

The thermometer in this car is very slow to update.
Not good....but normal.

Do the ole "instant reset".

Press and hold the a/c button. While holding it down, press the "recirc" button.

Re: Just got New tires on 08 VUE AWD Xr

Re: Just got New tires on 08 VUE AWD Xr

Our 08 only had like 15k on the Duelers and they were already starting to suck badly in the bad weather. Noticed it even as early as last winter.
I also put the BFG LONG TRAIL T/A on the VUE even...

There's an easy solution so you can have/use the metal caps and not have this problem.

Re: Outside air temperature guage

If you want to get a "instant update" as to the actual temperature, there is a way to cheat and get it to instantly update.
If memory serves, I believe it is for HVAC diagnostic purposes.

Re: Hatch struts weak...

This is nothing to worry about....

The struts work off of "gas pressure".
In warm weather, the gas is expanded creating more pressure.
The struts work normally.

In cold weather, the gas...

Re: Keep those seats HEATED?!?!?

Don't believe so.

Just like the seat heaters, the foglights (in our XR) only stay active until you turn off the ignition.
When you start the VUE, they back to off ! You've got to hit the switch...
