So Long, and Thanks for all the fish
The time has come for me to bid farewell to Saturn. After 12 years and six Saturns, I've made a change. I'm now working for the company formerly known as Saturn of St Paul - we're now White Bear...

Re: Replaced the Cabin Air Filter
The part number is 13175553. This is the regular cabin air filter. I paid about $28 for it. There is also a HEPA filter available (if you or passengers have asthma or allergies, spend the extra...

Re: Code P000A today
Interesting that this is a recurring issue for some people, and never happens to a lot of us. Obviously the issue is the camshaft angle sensor, but unless the replacement pipeline is filled with lots...

Re: Brake light warning
If you replaced the bulbs with LED's, its possible you have an iffy connection at the resistor you had to install. Black/white is stop tail and brown is ground. Check those connections. Soldered is...

Re: 16,000km between oil changes??
I change oil and filter when the Oil Life Monitor says "Inspection 0". This is usually between 8-9000 miles. (12800-14000 km). When I reset the Oil Life Monitor it shows INSP 11000 (miles) which...

Re: transmission issue - GM techs please help.
The revving w/out engagement appears to be a failure of the clutches for the 4th gear. Since you have the lower 3 gears, it's not a "save the engine thing". If anything, allowing 4200 rpm and no...

Re: Tinting Windows?
Tinting won't make it any quieter. If you tested with a sound meter before and after the WeatherTech kit, you might find a slight difference, but barely noticeable. Aura's are notoriously quiet -...

The side skirts pull it all together. Unlike some, I like the effect of the rub strip and the side skirts.

Re: 1. Steering wheel off center
It is perception and expectation. In over 30 years in the military I've driven many vehicles who's steering wheels were anything from "straight" to wayyy out of whack. The vehicles all drove...

Re: 32.0 MPG at 12,000 miles
At 41,453 miles my overall average since I took delivery with 63 miles on the car is 31.151. This is calculated from fill-ups rather than the DIC, which can be optimistic. The last 1000 mile average...

Are those headlamp washers in the new bumper? If so, have you figured how to make them functional? It appears that the VXR grille has a totally different mounting system from the Saturn unit - am I...

Re: EBC Redstuff front brake pads
I'd submit that the EBC Greenstuff pads would work better on the Astra given the type driving most do and the relatively low weight of the car. Redstuff pads are designed for heavier, more powerful...

Re: Fade to Black part 1...
Great job with a difficult piece to put the decal film on. I'm more a fan of body color, than flat black for the grill and trim surrounds.

Re: My Astra VXR
I'm thinking that had Saturn been kept in the GM fold, the Astra might still have been a one-year wonder in the US. Just about the time that the Astra was introduced, the Euro:USD went sideways.

I thought we had this discussion some time ago.
Your former Grand Prix (what is it now?) has/had a very different wiring/electrical system from the Astra. Astra's use a can/bus system, where...

Re: auto trans oil change info needed
That depends on what you call a filter. Many AT's have a fine screen instead of a filter these days.
Get the GM part number for the ATF that's recommended, and do some checking. I'm guessing...

Re: "Get your pin welded!"
Had a '99 SC2. About 18000 miles it spun the 2 & 3 rod bearings. When the dealership pulled it apart, they found the input shaft seal was leaking oil onto the clutch. They also discovered the pins...
