Re: 1999 Homecoming Edition - what is it worth

Maybe I've seen you driving around here (I live in Plymouth too). I see a 1999 Homecoming sedan around here sometimes, but it doesn't have a sunroof so it must not be you!

Re: Ion suspension clunk... Fixed

Believe it or not, I design stabilizer links for a living :).

I do links for Ford and GM mainly. I do not work for the link supplier for the Delta platform, but I can offer a little insight on...

Re: Local Craigslist - RED over SILVER Saturn...

Saturn used the two tone option on the 1991 - 1993 model year Saturns. It was available on the SL2 in silver/grey and medium red/silver and available on the SC2 as silver/grey and red/silver.

I...

Re: Aura Green Line status?

I test drove an 07 Aura Greenline and it was a nice car, but for the price and gas mileage, it's just not worth it. It gets only a few MPG's more than the regular Aura. A Civic (non hybrid) will...

Re: Just a question - Survey on Headliner issues!

Humidity is what will kill the headliners used in the S series. My dad and I have owned/fixed up 15 S series, and all had either a bad headliner, or a headliner recently replaced. This was all in...

Re: Lutz: Importing Astra Saved GM $ 900 Million - Could Turn Into "GM Charity Projec

Right. So what makes GM think the American people are going to like an "old" car? Just because it has been around in Europe for a while doesn't make it "new" in style. It's "new" to North America...

Re: Lutz: Importing Astra Saved GM $ 900 Million - Could Turn Into "GM Charity Projec

I'm not going to lie, the S series were overpriced for their time, especially toward the end. I could see paying the money though because they actually were a unique car with a unique powertrain and...

Re: Lutz: Importing Astra Saved GM $ 900 Million - Could Turn Into "GM Charity Projec

I think the high price of the Astra is contributed to the production and transportation costs. If this were to be produced in the U.S., it would probably be about $3,000 cheaper. But, GM is saving...

Re: Your 2003 Vue w/ VTI can get you killed

He is not being irresponsible at all. I think he is doing the right thing by getting the media involved and getting the word out. It irritates me when people get mad at others for causing...

Re: Now I Can't Decide Which Saturn to Buy

I'm pretty sure even with GM supplier discount you can't get an Aura below $18K. I checked on an Aura GL because I also get a supplier discount and they could only get it down to $20.5K. The...

Re: Now I Can't Decide Which Saturn to Buy

Get a Honda Civic, that's what I'm getting next year. The price for an LX is very good, reliability is good, resale is good, and gas mileage is very good. To add, it's also "proven" whereas most of...

Maybe I'll see you on I-96 someday. I take I-96 to church, and take I-696 when I go over to Warren or Sterling Heights. I'm in Novi.

Re: I hope she's kidding...

The resale value for the S series varies greatly by location. For example, in South Carolina the S series has a very high resale value. Whenever my dad and I sold an S series we fixed, we priced it...

Re: Ohio meet in September

Hi everyone, I don't think I'm going to be able to make this meet. It's a combination of it being so far away and I'm trying to save money for a new car. It would be around 3 hours for me to get...

Re: gack! got another one!

Cool, you got a "Saturn Blue" SL1 with the blue interior. My 1993 SL2 had the same color combo, I like the blue on blue.

$95 is a great deal, but it doesn't beat my free 1995 SC2 I got last year...

Re: Say goodbye to the SL2

I like the two tones so much because I have an older Saturn video from the late 80's, early 1990 called "Spring In Spring Hill" where they talk about Saturn, the plant location, and the design of the...

Re: Restoration question

Buy the donor car. When I bought my 1992 SL2 Two Tone, it was in decent condition but it needed some random things like a new instrument cluster, headliner, tires, and the alloy wheels had all the...

Re: S-Series the Best Car Ever Engineered?

I think if you are looking at it from a serviceability and ease of maintenance stand point, one could argue that Saturn S's are up there for the best engineered. Doing maintenance items on a Saturn...

Re: Sunroof on my 01 SC2

If I can offer a word of advice, get the sunroof shut, take the fuse out, and never touch it again. Your sympton sounds like the plastic guide is going bad, like they always do on Saturn S's because...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

What's wrong with that? A foreign auto maker is somehow not playing fair for not being a slave to the union and not paying someone $75,000+ a year to tighten a bolt...that's sub-standard!:dizzy:

Well well, another meetup. This one is pretty close to me since I live in Michigan now. I think I'll try to come down for the day, provided nothing pops up.

I'll bring my 92 SL2 two tone since...

Re: My sexy 1992 SL2

That's really cool! This is going to sound stupid, but could you post a picture of the original window sticker? I'd really like to see what it looks like.
