Re: Extended warranty?

Well...yeah, which is why I asked if there was an extended warranty available from, say, GM since they've taken over warranty service of Saturns.

Extended warranty?

When we purchased our 2007 Aura XE we elected to purchase a Saturn Service Plan extended warranty on the car to take the warranty out to 5 years. With the demise of Saturn I expect the replacement...

Re: bluetooth add on?

For the same cost as those several hundred dollar built-in solutions you can simply purchase a portable GPS navigator with bluetooth, that way you get GPS navigation AND hands-free for your phone....

Re: Aura parts?

Followup: I was finally forced to just get on the phone and make a long distance call to the people at Saturnparts.com to see what the deal was. The person normally in charge of the online sales was...

Aura parts?

Does anyone have any experience buying Aura parts from saturnparts.com? I've ordered the trunk cargo net but the order has been pending for 11 days now with no change in status and I've sent two...

Backup sensors

I know backup sensors aren't part of the standard Aura option list but has anyone had aftermarket ones added on and, if so, how well do they work and which ones did you have installed? Thanks.

Re: Clutch hydraulics cylinder cap causing problem?

There's a pressure equalization hole on the top of the cap and I get the feeling that the "balloon" inside the cap isn't equalizing properly. What I'm not understanding is why just that little bit of...

Clutch hydraulics cylinder cap causing problem?

My '98 SL2 manual transmission has been exhibiting the classic symptoms of the clutch hydraulics being bad. I removed the reservoir cap to check and see if the fluid was up half way as the manual...

98 SL2 clutch hydraulic system

I've got a 98 SL2 manual transmission and I'm experiencing the classic clutch hydraulics problem. I've read in a few places replacing the master and slave cylinders isn't such a bad job but I've also...

Replacing clutch hydraulics

My 98 SL2 is exhibiting all the classic signs of needing to have the clutch hydraulics replaced (hard to shift into first with car running, pumping clutch helps). I've seen lots of references to this...

Wiper motor or switch?

On my '98 SL2 the wipers have been intermittently turning on by themselves and, once they turn on, I have to move the stalk back and forth a few times to get them to turn off. Sometimes they stop...

Re: ECTS, what went wrong?

Resolution: Just to rule everything out, I went and got another temp sensor figuring if the one I had just bought was actually good I could use it to replace the air temperature sensor. Low and...

Re: ECTS, what went wrong?

That's a good question. I don't understand enough about the cooling system in this car to know if a stuck/malfunctioning t-stat would affect the temp of the coolant loop the ECTS is reading. I guess...

Re: ECTS, what went wrong?

Update: Fired up the car after work, hit A/C switch, compressor and fan did not run (temp outside was a bit less than 40F). Drove home, pulled into garage, let car run for a bit to warm up the...

Re: ECTS, what went wrong?

One of the possibilities I've come up with is my A/C pressure being a bit borderline at this point so cold temps might be causing the pressure to be just low enough to not allow the compressor to...

Re: ECTS, what went wrong?

The ambient temperature here in Toronto is less than 45F, or was when I was doing the above which could explain why sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. But, I'm positive I've fired up the...

I also tried this as posted somewhere else on the forum:

"To test the A/C, find the refrigerant line along the left fender, by the battery. There's an electrical connector going into the line....

Re: ECTS, what went wrong?

Ok, so I did go out and test the car when I had a little break tonight. When the fan DID come on when I hit the A/C switch, the compressor also kicked on. When the fan did NOT come on, neither did...

Re: ECTS, what went wrong?

I'll certainly check that tomorrow when I do my tests. I guess I'm still wondering if the new ECTS I installed might be defective as, again, the temp guage never goes above where it used stick at,...

Re: ECTS, what went wrong?

I didn't check that, but will. What's the easiest way to check if the compressor is running when the fan is not?

Re: ECTS, what went wrong?

Thanks for the reply. I replaced the connector at the same time as the ECTS, both brand new.
