I have to disagree with OldNuc on the camber affecting toe, when changing suspensions and trying to get the alignment close noticed that increasing or decreasing the camber hugely affected the toe.

Try running Mobil1 5w-30 full synthetic in it now, I started using that in my car about 2.5 years ago and hasn't burned a drop since.

Yes you need to swap in a 3rd gen ebrake, which is not that hard with a couple washers. E-brake cables don't need to be changed they fit right in the 3rd gen base....

I replaced the dash lights in my GF's 03 Ion with led's from superbrightleds.com and they work awesome. Super easy to do as well.
