Re: 95 Sl2 Floor Pan Repair and Replace

Looks like excellent work.

I sense an almost missed opportunity to add a FP access hole in the back. I don't know what other manufacturer's did but all Subaru did was stud-certs in the floor...

Re: Automatic to manual in a 95 DOHC

Unless something went wrong with the swap the only reason the SES should be on after you finished is because an automatic PCM was used and it doesn't have an automatic to control.

Not sure about...

Re: Drivers side power window becoming unreliable

Meanwhile in the rust belt, the outer panel will never go back on because the bolts have seized to the nut-certs and rather than unscrewing they just break the panel.

Re: Failed strut end

Throw it back together the right way, with a washer between the top of the mount and the bottom of the nut. Forgetting the washer leads to a very bad day and very strange noise's as you've also found.

Re: Where is the best place to mount extra gauges?

Best is either that middle spot on top of the dash above the HVAC & Radio or directly in place of the middle 2 HVAC vents (1st gen attached, I think there was one for 2nd gen as well).

Re: P0172 when IAT Sensor Plugged In?

If you jack up or put on ramps or otherwise get the driver side raised higher than the rest it'll help keep the coolant in the engine when you remove the ECTS. Needs to be a noticeable amount, don't...

Re: 96 sc2 front clip

1st gen SC/SC2 = '91-'96
There's nothing you can use from a 4dr for body panels on a '91-'92 SC nor '93-'96 SC2.
'93-'96 SC1's use the same headlights but I believe different fender and bumper from...

21011405 Filler Hose (connects the tube to the tank)

Re: 2000 Saturn SL2

If manual, yes. Worst that'll happen is you lose CC.
If automatic, most likely though we'll need more info to be sure (SOHC vs DOHC....ie Model of both cars).

Re: How much for a 2001 SL2 with 130,000

If you can haul it yourself, without paying someone else or renting equipment I'd give a maximum of $300. Take any rental/towing fees out of that price if you can't haul it yourself.

Re: Shift Interlock

If you can't reach it through the cupholder hole (just pull the cupholders on '95-'99), it's a total of 4 screws to remove the center console (2 in the rear stuff holder under a blank panel and 1...

Re: Fuel system help

The FPR clips on/off in about 20 seconds; JY=junkyard.
It'd be a good idea to bring carb/brake cleaner with you to clean debris off the top so it doesn't go directly into the fuel rail with the FPR...

Re: Fuel system help

'95-'97's use an adjustable FPR, might want to verify some knucklehead hasn't fiddled with that trying to fix the low fuel pressure (not actually sure how, I'd just swap for a JY unit).

Re: 2000 Saturn SL2 DOHC not starting

These motors generally don't run with much under 140psi compression. Brand new they have 200-210psi compression.

Re: How many s series owners became ion owners

Seems silly to "deal with" the goofy dash when the Cobalt SS is the same car and the dash is in the correct place, but that's just me.
