Re: 2008 Vue 4cyl Hard Start after fill up.

Hard to know if the gas pump kicking off prematurely is related but likely is due to unexplained pressure build up in the gas tank. You likely know, its related to the evaporative emissions system...

Re: Spark Plug Change

Great comments pro and con on using anti seize. Yes...slippery slope forgive the pun on how torque can be affected with anti-seize giving false reading on torque value and possible contribution to...

Re: Intermittent Blower Motor...

Thank you fdryer for your insightful words.
What you write makes a lot of sense. Because there is so little on the web available about this issue specific to the Vue, I did a search on the sister...

Re: Water on Driver's floor

If your car has a sunroof, the most common reason for foot wells to fill up are plugged drain hoses, that drain water from the frame of the sunroof which is like a moat over your head that must drain...

Re: Head Gasket???

A bit stupefying. You seem like a pretty smart wrench. Replacing a WP on one of the cars takes good wrenching skills.

So what is leaking? You saw coolant pooling before on top of the engine....

Re: Head Gasket???

So very good of you to post the procedure for changing the water pump on a 3.6L Vue. I have to say that I would be shocked if removing the engine mount is required to access the tensioner. Can you...

Re: Head Gasket???

The 3.6L is not known to have a head gasket as a weak link FWIW and of course being a V6 has two.
You performed the right checks and I wouldn't jump to conclusion. Only wildcard at this point is...

Re: wheel hub bearing replacement

Mostly depends on amount of salt exposure. On my '09 Vue, I got my front passenger side bolts out...big nut off, disc brake carrier off, hub bolts off, and couldn't get the bearing...

Re: Oil Consumption Thoughts

Conversation was spawned by a SUV with 3.6L V6 that John bought with 'an abused engine'. From that, wild speculation has been fomented that the actual motor is flawed in the context of oil...

Re: Oil Consumption Thoughts

Forgive me John, but what you write is beyond simplistic. What you write...is generic gobbly gook. Have you seen the statistical analysis and tolerance stack up of any or all the parts? What do you...

Re: Oil Consumption Thoughts

I agree. I believe denigration of the 3.6L is unfounded. The design is solid. Now it could be argued that GM screwed the pooch on early versions with extended oil change intervals. But even many...

Re: Oil Consumption Thoughts

Hard for me to bash the 3.6 because all the V6's I have owned from GM...3.1L, 3.6L and 3.8L have never used any appreciable oil. Of course I have bought the cars new and changed the air filter and...
