Re: Large shifter pivot bushing

Not sure if this is the same part. I had a cable bushing fail. My mechanic repaired it for no charge.

The Getrag F23 transmission is used in Cobalts and in Fiero automatic to manual transmission...

Re: 235-60R17 Tires Kelly vs Firestone vs Goodyear?

Did you get your tires? FWIW, I currently have Cooper CS4 tires on my Vue. 235/65R 16. They have been superseded by the CS5. 80,000 miles supposedly. I have 15,000 miles on them. So far, so good.

Re: Too many brakes to choose from

"The official brakes of NASCAR" means Duralast paid money to NASCAR in order to say they are the official brakes of NASCAR.

Re: More Rust on Rear Gate - Below Window

Cities in the Southeast have humid summers. The problem in LA is the ocean air. That is why it is important to keep the car clean and waxed. Paint technology has improved quite a bit since that...

Re: More Rust on Rear Gate - Below Window

The way to prevent rust is to live where it rarely rains, much less where there are snow and salt issues. Seriously: Thanks to SaturnFans, I learned about this when my Vue was new.

I never use...

Re: Love those Saturns!

Kia keeps sending me offers to trade. They don't even offer a manual transmission on the base Sportage for 2014. A Corvette is rust resistant, but "affordable" may be an issue. J/K!

Two trim...

Re: 2007 vue

My Vue just turned 7 years old. There is no rust on the lift gate. I never use the rear washer. The one time I did, the fluid ran all over the paint. I figured it was better to use a spray bottle and...

Re: General Motors Offering Saturn Owners Special Incentives to Test Drive Cars, Trad

If the "toys" are electronic, they are. Plus, I don't need to take a stroller very often any more. My 10 year old likes to move the shifter while I push in the clutch.

Re: General Motors Offering Saturn Owners Special Incentives to Test Drive Cars, Trad

I received mailers from Buick/GMC and Cadillac recently. Any dealer is going to make the best deal that he can, regardless of promotions, letters or a customer's current brand.

I usually have...

Re: Tires

I had the Bridgestone tires as original equipment. They lasted less than 30,000. I bought Cooper CS4 Touring tires about 18 months ago. I keep the air pressure at 35 psi.

Re: Tires

You are welcome. There is one caveat. The tire store sticker says 30 psi. The Saturn factory sticker says 35 psi. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Tires

The 235/65R16 tires were an optional size. They came on mine with a package that included side air bags and alloy wheels. The door sticker says 30 psi.

Re: A/C compressor seals

RobertGary1: Thank you for the reply. The leak is from the back plate, near a piston? Mechanic wants to replace the compressor and receiver dryer. He says that Saturn used different sources for their...

RobertGary1, fdryer or anyone else: I don't know a lot about engines, so any help is appreciated.

Re: 4 free oil changes from Saturn Authorized Service...did you get them too?

That sounds like a good deal. I never received any coupons, or offers for free anything.

Today, June 30, I received an email from Kia of Cerritos saying that they were now doing former Saturn...

Re: Cleaned under the hood

Looks good. I just did my Vue two weeks ago. My only concern is that most cleaning products are petroleum based and may cause problems eventually. The non petroleum based products are very expensive.

Re: Saturn dealer may be closing

To respond to the OP, most of the major parts on more recent Saturns should be available from Chevrolet or third parties. There are a lot of Saturns in Southern California, so I imagine it won't be...

Re: Saturn dealer may be closing

It is the "R" class crossover. There are quite a few of them in Southern California. They are from the same original design, but I don't believe that they share any parts.

Re: Saturn dealer may be closing

I mean the late 1960's, early 70's GP, the ones John Delorean brought to market.

I once owned a Chevette. It was the "Scooter" model; no back seat. I paid $1800 cash for it. I walked into the...

Re: Saturn dealer may be closing

It is possible. I can remember when the Grand Prix was called the Grand Parisien (sp?) in Canada. There was also a station wagon version, which was never offered in the US. There was also a Chrysler...

Re: Have the Bridgestone's improved?

Thank you, ems1. To the OP, the specs on the Bridgestone tires are the same as they were two years ago. That doesn't mean they haven't changed the way they are made. Maybe someone who has purchased...

Re: Have the Bridgestone's improved?

I posted on another thread that I expect at least 30,000 from my Duelers, based on current wear, 13,000 miles, and rotate every 5,000 miles. The rear tires look almost new. They have only been on the...
