Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

That works but instead of dirt collecting grease and/or oil try 3M part 08897 Dry Silicone you will be much happier. Amazon sells it.

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

If the pivot ball is worn out then you have 2 choices: 1)go to JY and get a replacement assembly from any year manual car, or 2)drill out the rivets and carefully sand down the part that holds the...

Junk Yard and then stiff brush the foam off the shell. Recover the passenger side. If this is not your thing there are shops that do this reasonably cheaply

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

Look at the end of the bar on the front side where the inner part is roll crimped into it. There should be a consistent small gap and if you stop from 30MPH and that gap gets larger then you will...

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

Front end klonk is probably the end of the sway bar moving back and forth under braking and acceleration, check carefully.

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

This has happened at least twice in NM recently. Based on 2 known incidents there will be more as this all comes out, which it will.

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

The ECTS is a 2 wire sensor and the gauge is the other 1 wire sensor, change it as it sounds shot. If your thermostat or ECTS were that bad the mileage you got would be much lower than it was.

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

PM or e-mail me your number. Disconnect the EGR valve at the valve and see if the Voltage improves with IGN-4 in place. EGR may be shorted out. You will need a battery charger to get the battery...

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

In the 96 and newer gen-2 the EGR is fed from IGN-4 switched by the ignition switch.

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

The 12v power is from the EGR fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. 10A marked EGR. The feed for that fuse is the ignition switch and where it is powered from there I don't know, no 95 drawing.

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

If you mean to the driver's side end of the cover, that is the EGR. Everything in the car is turned off by the ignition switch. You probably will not see much by looking, just replace it. The switch...

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

The lock and actual switch are separate parts. The switch is screwed to the end of the lock with 2 screws. It is not what happens when it dies but that there is an IGN-3 load on the system when there...

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

The problem is in the IGN-3 circuit. There are several possible areas where the problem could be but the most likely is the actual ignition switch. Reach up behind the lock cylinder and disconnect...

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

Sounds like it is related to the ignition switch. It is possible that it is the switch itself or some connected load.

There are the drawings for the ignition switch in my photo gallery and there...

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

Your problem sounds to be electrical, not a sensor. No sensor will cause a dead battery.

First test is to disconnect the red wire that runs from the positive battery terminal to the fuse box and...

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

No 95 but this is a 96 SL-2 diagram which should be very close. You can disable various accessories by pulling fuses and see if you can solve the problem. This problem could be nothing more than the...

Re: Rebuilding the tired out $300 199K 1995 SC2

If it is not absolutely level you have to mark all 4 tire points and construct pads to establish a level plain right to left and front to back. Takes a good carpenters level and a couple of straight...
