a lot of what the "attack" they're using does is probably the one that fills up the sql tables w/ junk data.. kind of like a DDoS

It's got a ton of great info and I've suggested some spam control options that have all but eliminated spam on 6S. If it does fail we accept refugees on 6S.. just like when TSN happened.

Nope. Mike Lore aka Titan didn't keep any complete, verifiable, backups and then when the site got hacked ( wasn't patched similar to how SF is running 3.8.9 when current version of vbulletin is...

Part of the issue is that Saturnfans is running Vbulletin version 3.8.9. The current version is 5.5.5 .

There are ways like akismet and stopforumspam service and honeypot IP checking but you have to install plugins, etc for them to function.

Not a direct swap. Like was said earlier you have to match your head generation to your intake. Furthermore with this you'll have to swap throttle cables as well
