Re: '02 SL2 Shift Lock Cable And Key Sticking

That is not the park lock cable, it is the other one with the spring mechanism.

The console is not difficult to remove if you're finding it too tight working through the cup holder.

The one...

Re: Driving long term on "bad" thermostat - temp sitting around 1/4 mark

The 99 and 01 gauge readings you've stated corresponds with what I'm seeing on my 99 and 01. When I got the 99 up and running last year I though it had a bad thermostat because of the compared...

Re: HELP!! Passenger door stuck! 01 sc1

Here's the tool made for the job and it is relatively easy to make one. I've seen it done using an old CD disk. Just cut a slot in it in the same fashion as the tool.

The second photo shows the...

Re: Driving long term on "bad" thermostat - temp sitting around 1/4 mark

The down side of running the car cooler then originally designed is that the temperature readings sent to the PCM affect fuel management.

At the gauge reading at 1/4 your car is likely running...

Re: '94 sl (oldie) --> '02 sc1 (newbie)

I'd keep the clutch and hydraulics as the earlier version has a better feel. They are interchangeable as long as they are both mated with an SOHC engine. If you prefer the feel of the Gen3 clutch...

Re: Replaced Wheel Bearing on "new" '02 SL1

I've switched from Moog bearings to Timken and I'm having a better experience. However, I did note that the first set of Timkens I purchase actually were packaged with SKF branded bearings. The...

Re: 94 SL2 wiring diagram and component locations and key tumbler set

Yes, where it enters the door frame it does get into pretty tight quarters but it pops out again not too far from there.

Here are some photos from my parts car. The wire routing here is the...

Re: 94 SL2 wiring diagram and component locations and key tumbler set

I couldn't find a suitable interior photo of a 94 or earlier showing the kick panel on the left so I posted a photo of a 97 and put in a disclaimer.

The power lock harness diagram you posted was...

Re: 94 SL2 wiring diagram and component locations and key tumbler set

I found this table which indicates you can access power door lock wires in 2 locations. This source of this is from a car alarm company and lists 91 - 99...

Re: 94 SL2 wiring diagram and component locations and key tumbler set

I do realize this. The diagram I posted is for a 94 model year. The linked post was not and I did mention that. It was only to give you an idea of where the wiring harness routing can be found and...

Re: Ignition switch swap.

It won't work. I looked at doing that on my 2001 recently as I have a 99 parts car. The cylinder is different as is the parts numbers.

Re: 94 SL2 wiring diagram and component locations and key tumbler set

It's not really clear what you're trying to do with the power door locks and what not. I gather you're trying to install an aftermarket remote FOB to control power door locks and trunk release. I'm...

Thanks! I was pretty excited to find it too! It drove me bat 5h!t crazy last winter and when I went to figure it out in the warmer weather it wasn't there.

Gen2 Dash Rattle

I chased down an annoying rattle that shows up in the cooler weather today and actually found it so I thought I would share. Here’s a video of the noise and the bolt to tighten to get rid of it.

Re: 02 sl1 heat isn't working

Also, the temp gauge should read as the gauge below (~1/3) if your ETCS and thermostat are working properly. If fully warmed and it hangs at 1/4 it is likely you have a leaking thermostat which is...

Re: 02 sl1 heat isn't working

The SOHC engine doesn't create much heat to begin with even at full operating temperatures.

The first problem regarding the low coolant is likely a stuck float switch in the coolant reservoir as...

Oh right. I looked in the sidebar of your post to determine the likely model year your driving. It shows a 97 however you did note 94 in the title. Sorry about that. You may want to update that...

Re: 94 sc2 difficult to start in cold weather

97 was the one year for wonky fuel pressure regulators but I don't think that is the problem. The symptom is for it not to start on the first try and/or excessive cranking. The work around solution...

Re: Drum to Disc Parts

I believe that is not a brake related part but rather part of the suspension and is present in both drum and rotor brakes.

Re: What did you find at the Salvage Yard Today?

Are those OEM foglamps on that 94? That would be a good snag for someone with a Gen1 sedan.

As far as disc brakes go, there are a lot of mixed reviews. I think the look better than drum but...
