Re: Tranny Slipping into 2nd and 4th

You could have just separated the ball joint. That lets you swing the strut out of the way without messing up the alignment.

Re: 2006 Vue Red Line w/Honda 3.5l compressor

How big of a puddle? There is not much oil in the AC system. And if it did leak out the refrigerant oil, it also leaked out the refrigerant. The resulting low pressure would stop the Compressor...

Re: Transmission issues

And if you don't want a manual, most folks swap in an AF23 . . .

Re: Transmission issues

Had to be if it was an '03 4 cyl automatic. I almost bought one, but fortunately opted for the V6.

Re: timing belt help needed URGENT!

That kit is for the 3.0L (2002-2003) and is definitely not needed to do the job on that engine. This thread is about the 3.5L Honda SOHC.

Re: Tranny Slipping into 2nd and 4th

You can replace individual Solenoids - new ones are about $50.

Re: Automatic Trans Issue

A little disappointing. What did Ken Partin have to say?

Re: Automatic Trans Issue

I think his original VB may have only had a bad LP Solenoid which would account for the initial symptoms (harsh shifts) - OP said resistance was 500 Ohms.

Re: Automatic Trans Issue

billr - the OP only had the low LP symptoms with Ken's VB. Probably not worth measuring actual LP unless he still has those symptoms when the original VB is back in.

Re: Automatic Trans Issue

Ken Partin typically does the Pressure Regulator, and the Boost Regulator only as needed. Maybe he missed that one?

Delayed Reverse is usually the VB. Maybe see if that goes away with your...

Re: Automatic Trans Issue

Getting all these codes suggests slipping in all gears, probably due to low line pressure.

That's more like WAY above spec, and probably the cause of your original symptoms. I would...

Re: A Confusing MP7 Slamming Gears

This information is WRONG. Check with RockAuto.
The '96 and earlier gasket is 13 hole (Pt #21001683 or 10302A).
The '97 and later gasket is 8 hole (Pt #21003202 or 10302B).

This looks like...

Re: A Confusing MP7 Slamming Gears

No - that newer gasket only has 8 holes - yours has 13. I've had the pan off my '95 twice and left the original gasket on there....

Re: A Confusing MP7 Slamming Gears

I try to avoid additives myself.

According to the O'Reilly site, their Premium ATF Dexron III/Mercon Automatic Transmission Fluid is recommended for all automatic transmissions requiring Dexron...

Re: A Confusing MP7 Slamming Gears

Some FSM pages fwiw.
I'm leaning toward an intermittent electrical gremlin. If it was a Solenoid sticking, I wouldn't think that would go away after a fuse pull reset. And that Code 95 suggests...

Re: TAAT or Speed sensor issue help

Welcome Slush. The Vehicle Speed Sensor and the Turbine Speed Sensor are the same part. You could try swapping them to see if anything changes.

Re: SL1 TAAT transmission mystery

This might be worth doing > With the car running and the connector unplugged, you should have B+ on 5 pins (J, A, C, E and G).

Re: SL1 TAAT transmission mystery

You should be able to get continuity from Pin G (Red wire) on the VB harness connector to at least one side of the LP Fuse socket. Double check this. The car needs to be running only if you want to...

Re: SL1 TAAT transmission mystery

It was on earlier VBs. If yours has a plastic tip on the Manual Valve, you can't go wrong.

Re: SL1 TAAT transmission mystery

PS - there is NO 1st Gear Solenoid. The 1st Gear Clutch is engaged mechanically in all gears.
