Re: Splice antenna cable?

I wiggled it around a bit more and put the radio back. UNless I hit a bump I should be good. :) I guess there isn't an easy solution, I'll have to replace the cable.

Re: Splice antenna cable?

The radio end connector is lose around the cable. I tried squeezing the fitting but it didnít help. Iím sure there is an official crimper and it might do the job.

Splice antenna cable?

Iím getting poor reception because the connector end of my antenna cable is getting lose. I can wiggle it around and improve reception. Rather than take everything apart I wonder if I could cut the...

Re: new clutch checklist

The FSM calls for removing the transmission as I recall. If you actually do that it does take longer but there is no benefit to doing it that way. At 240,000 miles the bands on the pressure plate on...

Re: New Key Fob Programming

If you have an MDI interface device you can rent Tech2Win from ACDelco. Its the same software the dealer has access to. Its very nice.

Re: can't get into gear with engine running

Most common issue is bend bands on the pressure plate. It happens over time. Peddle will feel normal (since the hydraulic clutch self adjusts) but disengagement is not complete.
Fortunately it only...

Fuel pump brand

In 275,000 miles the car has never failed to start (other than occasional battery). Drove down to San Jose and it didnít start. Banging on the tank eventually got it started.
Whatís the best brand...

Re: Bad IAC? Low Idle/Oil Light while idle in drive

Most oil pressure gauges have all the adaptors you need. I just unscrew the switch and screw in the adaptor with gauge. You an probably borrow one at the auto parts store.

Re: '01 SL1 rear seat removal for FTP sensor access

Just drop the tank. Itís not hard and easier than trying to cut a hole for sure.

Re: Key Fob

I would be very surprised if you could program a new fob without a Tech II. I've never seen a fob seller claim otherwise.

Re: Key Fob

I donít think any Saturn can be user programmable. Youíd need someone with a tech2 to program it.

Re: Help! Timing belt slipped off while rotating assembly during installation!

Itís very difficult to get that rear cam to stay still when setting timing. The thing is sitting at the spring and a sneeze will cause it to fall off and rotate. Itís pretty typical. Not seen ill...

Re: Clutch Woes

Luk is the best source for all clutch related parts.
No need to do anything with the engine. Just pull the transmission over into the wheel well and that will give you enough room to work.

Re: Clutch Woes

You can do the wire test if you want to be sure but this is a common issue with the pressure plate.

Re: Clutch Woes

THats not the hydraulics. The straps on the pressure plate bend over time. Just need swap out the clutch. Only a few hour job in these cars.

This is a very common issue in this model.

Re: SC with blown engine

97+ also requires changing the oil pressure sensor but itís not bad.

Btw the reason these cars throw rods is because they are run without oil.

Re: Brakes sevice interval... how often?

Might try flushing the fronts. If it happens again Iíd replace the caliper. Youíre seeing premature wear because itís dragging.
