Wish Saturn Corporaton had manufactured thousands of spare, new NV7 rack & pinion units and kept them in an air-conditioned warehouse so that I could purchase a few.

Iím always looking for tires that are round and donít vibrate like a p.o.s. at highway speeds. Cold front inflation pressures less than 37 psi would be a plus. Tread on-the-ground width that matched...

If it took 100 foot-pounds to loosen the tie-rod inner, that is putting a lot of force onto the pinion gear and support bearings....

IF you replace the inners, make sure the rack is not on the car. Clamp the gear teeth of the rack in a padded vice and use that to resist the considerable torque required to remove the inners.

The problem with my car is probably elsewhere. Next will be new tie rod inners and ends and a close inspection of...

IF you plan to keep the car, replacing parts will not be a waste of money.
1) Shift Cables on ebay
2) Repair the shifting mechanism on top of the transmission.

It is worn internally. Holding the axle horizontally at the threaded end and holding where the damper was, if I shake the axle up/down, the internals...

If my crunch is from the brake lines, I will just wait for them to wear thru and then Iíll lop off the ragged ends with pruning shears. That will leave only the suspect axle. Process of elimination...
