Re: The definitive guide to Gen3 S-series instrument cluster bulb replacement

Thanks again for keeping this thread alive, about half the cluster bulbs are out in the 2000 SL2 so just ordered the BelMetric tan-base incandescent bulbs. Still $1.91/each in quantity 10 or more....

Re: 99 SL2 Remote Keyless Entry

PCM is I suppose a possibility but we have no other problems with PCM and don't want to start down the road of randomly replacing parts which might be the problem.

Don't think it's the...

Third time in recent months our 99 with RKE has randomly reprogrammed itself to an unwanted mode. This time it reprogrammed to passive arming without audible alarm, leaving spouse stranded when she...

Re: 96 SL2 Left Rear Caliper Seized, Can hear metal grinding

Do NOT drive without your brakes working as designed. Especially do not pick up kids without the car in safe condition, but don't risk yourself or others in your vicinity either. Crossover braking...

Re: Saturn Written off... Any other Rust free nice looking 1st gens left???

It's a Long way to drive but there are a fair number of all generations available at any given time on the Seattle Craigslist and here in the rain belt they stay relatively rust-free.

Vancouver BC...

Re: S-Series Smog Pump Compatability

Sounds like pistons hitting valves.

Does it look like the pan bolts have been missing for a while or just now taken off? Shop may've pulled the pan to look at why the engine wasn't turning over....

Re: S-Series Smog Pump Compatability

Compression test isn't going to happen if the engine won't crank. Likewise with checking for spark.

Did the shop confirm engine seized by manually turning it, say by a wrench on the front pulley...

Re: 110mph limit?

I think you can support the argument that Ferraris become more stable at high speeds but at >100mph aerodynamics play a large part. Tires too must support the speed.

Myself I'd put the good transmission in the 101k car. While you may be able to completely clean the shavings out of the "recently rebuilt" engine imo it would need a complete teardown and possible...

Re: 96/99 fender colors

Not practiced at reading these but it looks like the color is WA-L110E U110E 11D. No name for the color on the label...sorry for the poor quality phone pic but at least it's legible.
