Re: With sadness

Ha. I saw the car on the Chicago Craigslist this past week. It was for sale for $4,201 at a used car dealer in Barrington. It could not be mistaken for any other car because of all of the Opel...

Re: XE Rear Doors - Wiring

Buy the repair kit. I went to the local pick and pull also and found the wiring broken or cracked in the same exact spots on the only two cars in the yard. The wire insulation the factory used was...

Re: Vauxhall Astra Owner's Manual PDF

You could just go with the Haynes repair manual 4732, Vauxhall/Opel Astra. It is available on eBay and probably on Amazon too. You may have already thought of that.

Re: What Cool Tools Are In Your Car/Tool Box?

Ha. Much like yourself I keep a vintage Wade Boggs T-ball bat on the floor between the front passenger seat and door sill. Oh... and a few other tools/supplies bungied through the tie down loops in...

Re: Another Flexpipe

Go with the one on eBay from the Canadian supplier. I installed the first replacement section with the flex pipe and second catalytic converter back in April. No, it is not stainless steel, but it is...

Re: Astra XR full Opel conversion in NH

Thanks for sharing. I expected a much more tattered and battered Astra at 205,000 miles. The 12 volt power outlet cover is even still intact.

Re: Astra XE wheel size

So these should fit right on my Astra XE5, correct off set and all? I can get them for 200 bucks. I could not upload the complete Craigslist ad but the same make/model fit chart is in it.

Aftermarket Sunroof on an XR3

I found this one mildly interesting aftermarket sunroof on this XR3 when surfing Craigslist. We all know that they were only available on new Astras on the 5 doors, so I had to do a double take when...

Re: So I just made it to 200k miles....

At what mileage did the check engine light burn out? Ha. You must have replaced about four flex pipes, three ignition coil packs and the same number of stabilizer link sets. The winters are hard up...

Re: 2008 Saturn Astra Block Heater cord

There are all lot of numbers on the box but mainly the GM part number of 94718543. The official GM label with the hologram is stickered over the Calix label on the box, which is interestingly, the...

Re: Another flex pipe repair or a new exhaust section?

Thanks for your responses. Yup, this vendor is from Canada and I figured some trimming of the new part was necessary. How did you get the sensor out of the old pipe without destroying it? Could you...

Re: P065E code coming up again.

Four years ago I got mine shopping around the various GM mega online dealer parts departments. I hunted and hunted to get a good price for the OEM ones, P/N 555567050, which I believe were the only...

Re: Will a chevrolet sonic or cruze Intake Manifold Kit fit?

Thanks for your reply. My XE has had a lot of ongoing issues with it in the past and is having some right now, more than a vehicle with 108,000 miles on it should have, so I have to decide what to do...

Re: P065E code coming up again.

I did replace my camshaft position sensors on my XE in the summer of 2015, and it was in another post at that time. The cars engine dieseled, when hot and under acceleration or load, and it had slow...

Re: Will a chevrolet sonic or cruze Intake Manifold Kit fit?

It will be a year this April that this code has been displayed. So did you replace it and everything, (CEL, bad performance and poor fuel economy), went away? There is a new one available on eBay for...

Re: Will a chevrolet sonic or cruze Intake Manifold Kit fit?

I looked on line for an intake manifold for my XR 5 door. The part #'s for the Astra and for the Cruze and Sonic are different. So I would tend to believe they are not interchangeable. Interestingly...

Re: 2008 Saturn Astra Block Heater cord
