Re: Lame AWD

I have the good original RDM in my 04 and change the fluid as needed.
I think it works great and love driving in the snow. When the traffic
signal turns green I just put my foot down and leave...

Re: 04 vue making loud noises when going over bumps

There's a little trick to loosen the big top nut. It involves using a
large 1/2 inch drive spark plug socket that has a hex drive on the
outside. You hold the shaft from turning with a 3/8 drive...

Re: Rearview wiring help?

I believe the exterior lamp power lead dims the display.
The temperature sensor isn't grounded so two wires are needed to
complete the circuit.

For a 2004 Vue:

Gray -> Temperature sensor
Black -> Ground
Yellow -> 12 volt power
Green -> Exterior lamp power
Green/Black ->Temperature sensor

Re: Smurftacular

That eDead stuff looks like HVAC duct sealing mastic that's been tinted. Duct mastic
is a fibrous latex based polymer paste with zero VOCs and almost odorless(none
when dry) that's fairly dense. A...

Re: 04 HVAC air filter

The owners manual is incorrect. Pop the hood. The box containing the filter is along the top section of the firewall just in front of the passenger seat. About 4 to 6 plastic push-in gizmos hold...

Re: 04 vue making loud noises when going over bumps

I have the same problem with my 04. But I'm being lazy about it and trying to ignore the noise by avoiding potholes and driving on smoother roads.

Last time I had the front wheels off I noticed...

Re: Changed RDM fluid today

12 months with RP, but you'll probably get much longer if you have more highway mileage. Ouch on that price!

Re: Changed RDM fluid today

But they only made the noise when the fluid got contaminated too much with particles from the clutch plates. It's the typical wah-wah noise on tight turns when parking or pulling into a driveway. ...

Re: Changed RDM fluid today

Don't think so. I have the original non-lame RDM in my 04 that locks up quickly.
Almost 100% in city driving that's rough on clutch plates.
Only 27K miles in 53 months of ownership(short commute).

Re: Changed RDM fluid today

I've had better luck with the Versatrak fluid as compared to the Royal Purple.
It lasts longer before the noise returns.

Re: 04 VUE AWD RDM Fluid Level

Just drain it all out and refill with 750 ml of VersaTrak fluid.
That comes close to the bottom the threads on the fill hole on mine.

It's much easier to fill using one of these:...

Re: 2004 V6 AWD Grabbing hard onto every gear

The only suggestion I have would be to reset the ECM/TCM as described in this thread.

Re: Where is the 2006 Vue AWD 3.5 Oil Filter located?

If you're going to be changing oil yourself you'll probably need a different oil filter wrench, the filter for the Honda engine is quite small in diameter.

Re: 2006 Vue V6 AWD... Do I need an oil drain plug GASKET?

I've never replaced the washer on my 04 3.5 and it doesn't leak.
They do tend to fall off into the drain pan when the drain plug is removed tho.

Re: Help - Transfer case fluid volume

I've had better luck with Versatrak fluid vs Royal Purple in the RDM.
Lasts twice as long before the noises return(recall not done).

That engine is actually manufactured by Honda. Also used in the Pilot, Odyssey,
and other Honda models.

Re: Is Defrost always turn AC on?

I beg to differ. Every October I pull the A/C clutch relay so it can't can run at all in the winter, never had any problems defogging. But there's no heavy breathing going on in my Vue. :)
