Re: Vue Lifespan

The key falling out of the ignition will be fixed for free at any GM dealership. At least it was on my two 2007s.

They'll replace the ignition switch and you get a pair of shiny new keys.

Re: All clean and shiny

Thanks! And I think it makes the Saturn look whiter! :)

Actually, the driveway is on the list to replace as soon as the kid's out of college.

All clean and shiny

Since it hadn't been washed in months I spent some time on the 2007 this morning. This is after one coat of cheap Mr. Fix9H.

Now to do something about those wheels and tires.

Window switches

Random thought I can't get out of my head-

Can I replace all 4 center console window switches with wrecking yard Auto Down switches?

Would all 4 work like the driver one or did Saturn do...

Re: Lo Idle AC mystery solved.

It's kind of the other way around- the poor readings are an indication of the scroll valve being clogged. I guess the answer you want is "yes".

Re: Scam or clueless owner

Not sure I get your point. Yes, there's no engine view but it has the 4 cylinder wheels and lacks the chrome trim across the grille. Unpainted door handles and mirrors also indicate 4 cylinder.

I...

Scam or clueless owner

The VUE pictured is a 2002-2005 4-cylinder. It's not a V6 AWD unless the engine/trans has been swapped with one from a V6, even then it's not a 2006.

Timing "belt" change aside, either this owner...

Re: Concerened over lower bal joint install 2004 VUE

I replaced the whole control arm. They have pre-installed ball joints and bushings. It was well worth it instead of messing with the ball joint.

Sorry that's not much help.

Re: Where does the grille brush guard mount?

Thank you.

I saw those threads with links and the video doesn't help much. I saw those holes in my frame rails but there's just no way to remove the air dam. Looks like I'll have to hack away at...

Re: Where does the grille brush guard mount?

It's basically the same as the Westin 30-0020.

Where does the grille brush guard mount?

Instructions say to remove the lower air dam. The lower air dam is half the front bumper and takes a lot more than 7 push connectors to remove. The trim around the opening makes more sense to remove,...

Re: Weird Brake Noise

Yep, I seated them. I got the pads good and hot and got some good burning smell off them right after I installed them. I know some pads don't need that but there were no break-in instructions on the...

Weird Brake Noise

You know how you can baaaaaarely let off the brake pedal in a car with an automatic transmission and you get a groaning noise from your brakes? After I replaced the pads and rotors in my 2007 V6 VUE...

Re: Lo Idle AC mystery solved.

My A/C cools very little at idle but is fine at speed. Do these numbers look like my 2007 V6 VUE is a good candidate for a new scroll valve?

Re: Aftermarket stereo = loss of door chimes?

I know this is an old topic but why create a duplicate...

I've installed aftermarket stereos in 3 VUES now; a 2003, 2005, and a 2007. None of them lost their door/key/headlight chimes and all 3...

Re: I may have a problem

My father-in-law still has my black 03 that's in my avatar and my wife's friend still has the other black one. I guess we have 5 in our "family". :)

I may have a problem

The gray one is a 2007 2.2/5-speed 130k, teal is a 2005 3.5/AWD 140k, and the white one is a 2007 3.5/FWD with 84k. Love 'em all!

Re: 2007 Vue help

Tires are usually only good for 5 years. Rubber naturally degrades in air and sunlight.

After that they start to dry out and crack and aren't even covered by the manufacturer warranty.

All-up weight

I had a chance to put my 2007 2.2l 5-speed on the scale at the rockery yesterday. With no junk but me in it and a half tank of gas it weighed 3483 lbs.

Re: nasty vibration in reverse. manual tranny

My 2003 2.2/5-speed had the motor mounts replaced under warranty in 2004 to fix the same problem you're having.

Re: Is 5th gear even worth a rat's a**?

I beg to differ. The ratio is something like 4.10:1 and the 2.2 has no problem getting my 2003 moving. These things are geared to roll.

Of course it'll work harder in 5th... if you try to...
