Re: Intermittent Starting Issue

I wouldnít go randomly replacing parts. Measure the fuel pressure at start up. The aftermarket pump youíre replacing it with is probably less reliable than the old pump.
Itís pretty straight...

Re: 06 Redline will not run/idle while cold

Are you sure the timing belt was set correctly? Maybe youíre a tooth off.

Re: does heating a tie rod for alignment make sense

That's a new one. They're cheap. If they're not tight toss them in the trash and replace. Easy to do at alignment.

Re: What can a tech 2 scanner do?

tech2win doesn't require any of that. You just need a GM compatible MDI interface device to talk to the car (ODBII is not enough). Then you either pay a monthly subscription to A/C Delco to have...

Re: A/C Compressor Replacement Recommendations?

I believe its a federal law that the junk yard must reclaim the refrigerant, oil, and coolant before letting people grab parts. In California they must also remove and destroy the cat, which means...

I have the tech2win which is what the dealer uses now. Itís a great tool but honestly only a few times has it saved me money (I e enabling cruise etc). With an acdelco subscription you can also...

Re: 99 SL1 radiator fan

Thatís he problem with four seasons and Autozone. You end up having to replace them every 50,000 miles or so. Itís really hard to beat the quality available at pick n pull. When you could still buy...

Re: Filling the A/C from empty

When I took the 1234yf class I remember a couple interesting things (which may have changed)

1) The price is artificial because only one company is allowed to make it. If the gov't allows other...

Re: Filling the A/C from empty

I wouldn't personally want to do this without evacuating it. Can you borrow a pump from autozone? For a discharge generally you want 1oz of PAG 46. It kind of depends on how violent the discharge was...

Re: Airflow center console

Interesting. That's opposite for me. Very little flow out the left one unless I close the right one.

Airflow center console

Do you find that the airflow through the two vents in the center console is about the same or does one have more flow than the other?

Re: Napa 30# 134a for $120

It takes 30 min to get your card or less if youíre pretty proficient. Itís just an online test. Funny I have my card and they never asked.

Re: Refrigerant Temp Sensor - replacement part??

The part is no longer made. I picked up a couple at pick-n-pull that work fine. Test the resistance. I can't remember the value but you'll see the good ones are different than yours. This solves the...

Are you getting fuel pressure at the rail? Does it catch if you spray quick start in the TB?

Re: Will switching from conventional to synthetic hurt my SL2?

Using synthetic is great for these cars. In fact engineers had assumed it and its likely why there are no drain back holes on the pistons.

Check the area behind the pulley on the clutch. Its a common area for leak. Personally I don't see a lot of leaks from the service valves because those plastic EPA caps are actually pretty amazing at...
