Re: How many miles are on your L?

Just put the 02 LW200 back on the road.
It sat for about a year with a broken power steering hose.
It now has 301,302 mi.
Had to put a junk yard exhaust on and do a little body work in the rear...

Picked...

Re: Help with noise

Did the noise start after you did the work?
If so:
Check the dust shield on the back side of the rotors. Sometimes they get bent and can rub against the rotor.
Make sure the pads are seated...

Re: 2004 Saturn VUE V6 spark plug hole stripped

I don't think it matters. If there are any shavings remaining on the top of your piston, I can't see any easy way for them to get back down into your oil pan? Hopefully, they'll either disintegrate...

Re: 2006 Saturn Vue Motor mount`s

Welcome to the forum.
Not sure what motor you have? How many miles on the car?
If it's the V6 3.5L engine you might consider changing the mount that's under the air box first and go from there....

Re: Air Conditioner problems

You can buy just the scroll valve for under $50 and you don't have to totally remove the compressor to change it. Lots of posts here about doing it. Search for scroll valve.
good luck

Re: Electrical or BCM?

You might need to find an independent mechanic or GM dealer with a Tech2 scanner to trouble shoot or program the BCM.
Others more knowledgeable than I will know.
best of luck

Re: Timing Belt

What year is yours?
Maybe your new one came with the bushing attached?
I purchased an Asian kit and I needed to take the old bushing from the idler.
Mine is an 07.
Just saying if you need the...

Re: 2005 Vue 3.5 Oil Pan vs Honda Pilot Oil Pan

I looked into it a while ago when my pan bolt stripped and was leaking.
I ended up getting a longer bolt that filled up some threads that weren't being used. The longer bolt stopped the leak.
You...

Re: Timing Belt

I used the car's starter to break the crank pulley bolt loose (easy). Look on Utube for a video.
There is a bushing on the back of the old idler that you need to put on the new idler (easy to miss)....

Re: Control arm bushing quality

Adam,
I can't tell from your post if you're looking to replace just the bushing(s) or the entire control arm?

Probably a lot easier to replace the control arm which comes with new bushings.

So...

Re: Do all Vue's come with CVT trans?

Sorry if my post was misunderstood. Notice that the 310K is on my L Series wagon with a 2.2 engine. We were talking about timing chain issues. The L Series never had the CVT.

My vues have the 3.5L...

Re: Do all Vue's come with CVT trans?

Saturn supposedly fixed the 2.2 TC issue on the late 2002 models.
I have an 02 L series with 310K. No issues.
And I do believe all the early 4 cyl vues used the CVT.
Lots of threads on the board...

Re: P0386 code after timing belt change

I explained my situation to the guys at AutoZone before they ordered the sensor. They said if I just plug it in, I couldn't return it.
I kept the sensor, stupid tax. I pay that tax now and again but...

Re: P0386 code after timing belt change

Looking at buying a new one.
Rockauto is out of stock.
Looks like I can order one through NAPA.
I have the old sensor off the car and I...

Re: P0386 code after timing belt change

Followed the troubleshooting procedures from alldata.
Ground good.
Voltage good. 12V
Signal strength: close 4.65V
This is actually to test the circuit from the PCM to the sensor.
At least this...

Re: P0386 code after timing belt change

Took the crank pulley and timing covers off.
No apparent coolant leaks.
I would gladly change the sensor if I knew for sure that was the problem?
Any way to bench test the crank sensor?

Re: P0386 code after timing belt change

Also, I painted the crank pulley when I had it off. I didn't paint the area that rides flush against the washer but I did paint the area just outside of it. That area sets opposite the outer ring of...

Re: P0386 code after timing belt change

Problem didn't start until timing belt kit installed.
I'm wondering if my new water pump is leaking coolant onto the sensor?
Will take it back apart.

Re: Detroit axle front end parts review and install

Nice job.
Thanks for the writeup.
I've had good luck with Detroit Axle parts.
Did you buy the parts direct from DA?
