Re: Oil light/rough idle after rebuild

The Timing Cover and oil pump are bad due excessive clearances on the oil pump bores from metal shavings being pumped around, Replace the cover with a used on from a junkyard.

Re: Excessive fuel consumption when cold

Sounds like your Thermostat is worn out and causing the engine to run cold and rich. I assume you tried using a 12 point socket on those 10 mm bolts and rounded them?

The gears are pricey but worth every penny if you want the odometer and trip meter to function correctly again.

Re: Is "this" an OEM EGR Valve?

That's the GM replacement, and as stated as close as you will get to the original Saturn valve.

Re: Won't Stay Running

I'm currently going through this with my 2000 SW2, if you get a junkyard BCM they can program the module including mileage for cheaper.

Re: Strut Mount Squeak When Hot.

I see, I don't even remember seeing a lip on that bearing case, Would the lip gradually wear down and get quiet? The passenger side strut doesn't make any noise at all and the mounts were the same??

Re: 99 SL2 drove through high water wont crank

If the plugs are out and the engine is still locked up then most likely mechanical damage has occurred like a bent connecting rod, Most likely the engine will need to be replaced.

Re: Slam shifting, so pulled valve body

The Solenoid that has an ohm reading of 2.2 needs to get tossed, As far as the looks of the valve body that tells you nothing, The problem that occurs is excessive clearances inside the pressure...

Re: Odometer going nuts HELP

Most likely it's the printed circuit, That's what happened to ours, you will need to find a cluster with the oil pressure gauge and take the printed circuit off that.

Re: Odometer going nuts HELP

The problem is either the odometer motor or a short on the printed circuit on the back of the cluster, My friends 93 had the same problem with it spinning way to fast while driving.
