Re: 06 Vue roof rack options

You have a few options here:
1. Source a set of the chrome rails and install. To do this your existing black track will have to be removed and the chrome rails with it's respective black track will...

Re: 2003 3.0 vue needs some tough love

You are on the right track. Removing the intake to change the plugs, thermostat and the O2 sensors will probably take you the better part of a day if you've never taken the intake off yourself. Some...

Re: 2005 Vue FWD 6 cyl ABS problem

Your issue(s) is a bit confusing. Is your ABS light on?
When stopping on ice, do you feel the pedal pulse?
Grinding is an indication that your pads are worn out. This has nothing to do with ABS....

Re: 02 Saturn Vue V6 AWD Down on Power

What happens if you rev the engine when in park? Does the engine sputter, hesitate, misfire, etc?

Sounds like you have multiple issues. Let's start simply. When was the last time the fuel filter...

Re: Valve issue?

I'd rent or buy an inspection camera and feed it into each spark plug hole so you can look at the valves before you pull the heads.

Re: 3.0 miss fire hwy speed

Does your misfire only occur at 50mph? Can't get it to misfire under the same acceleration conditions but at 40 or 60 mph?

Re: 2003 Vue will not start

In my experience, the engine will not crank if the ignition switch is bad.

Usually if the engine cranks but doesn't start it's either no fuel or no spark. (In the case of my previously mentioned...

Re: 2003 Vue will not start

Just because the engine cranks, doesn't mean your battery is fine.
This past Fall, our Vue stalled on my wife and cranked normally, but would only start and run briefly with starter fluid. Towing...

Re: 03 vue possible bad new crank sensor

I've had CPS failures before, but never within hours after replacing them. If it were me, I'd spray some starting fluid into the throttle body and see if it will fire for a few seconds. If so, I'd...

Re: Vue cooling fan issue and codes

Walt, sounds like you're frustrated at sinking hard earned $$ into your Vue with no positive results. I get that. Been there myself at times.

I still don't understand the need for the mechanic to...

Re: Vue cooling fan issue and codes

Bear with me a moment as I don't understand the original issue...
You say the rad fan was constantly running, even when air temp was 20 deg. So your mechanic changed out the thermostat. Was the...

Re: 2005 Vue Leaking Hyrdolic Fluid - Best Option?

[QUOTE=afrodave;2230155]2005 Vue, manual. Mechanic said most likely it's the slave cylinder for $700 for them to replace. I thought I should redo the clutch once everything is apart for another...

Re: Speedometer light only works on one side

Had a similar issue with our '03 Vue, but it was the left side. One or more of your bulbs have burnt out. Pull them all out and check which ones work with a multimeter as you really can't tell by...

Re: Overheating Vue

It's possible the thermostat is stuck closed or the temp sensor is faulty and sending a bad signal showing it's overheating.

Does the temp gauge drop if you turn on the heater full blast?

I...

Re: Extreme Oil Leak

I'd put money on this too. I've been fortunate never to have this issue as I re-routed per the tech bulletin years ago.

Re: White smoke coming out of exhaust when at a stop.

Based on the info provided, I agree. Steam, not smoke, and totally normal.

Re: White smoke coming out of exhaust when at a stop.

If you take the car to get smogged, chances are if it's burning coolant you will fail the test.

Does the smoke/ steam stop once the engine comes up to temperature at idle? For example, you're...

Re: 02 vue 3.0 removing intake for valve cover change

You want to put a thin bead of silicone on the front and rear of the camshaft cover at both smaller 1/2 circle ends.

Do not over tighten the cam cover bolts. Can't remember the torque off the top...

Thanks, and best of luck with your troubleshooting.

Re: 2003 Vue 3.0 - cranks but will not start

Just to close my loop on this thread, on a hunch I had my battery tested. Battery was bad, just over 4 years old.
Car is running now.

Re: 2003 Vue 3.0 - cranks but will not start

Trey, did you ever get this figured out?
Ironically, my wife called me early this evening stuck on the side of the road. Similar symptoms as you described.
I was able to get it started with...

Re: 2003 Vue 3.0 - cranks but will not start

Ordinarily I'd say based on your description that this is classic CPS failure but you seem to have eliminated that possibility. So we move on...

I'm going to make the bold assumption your timing...
