Re: Key FOB Battery Dying

I've had issues with my primary FOB button sticking...the unlock button will sometimes jam in the 'on' position. That will reduce battery life.

I'd pull it completely apart and check to see IC...

Re: 06 grinding/dragging noise

Yeah, I've had that problem...rain over time will rust the pad shims (pad retainer clips), so when you start in morning, one side of pad will drag until you use the brakes to loosen it up (allow pads...

Re: What is this super annoying piece on the driveshaft?

Can you move it so it is up against bearing housing?

If hole for that loose plate is much larger than shaft going through it, I would JB weld or tack weld it to housing (making sure it is...

Re: I hope the engine is not seized

That is odd...so, you have moved the flywheel with socket (full revolution), so the engine isn't seized, yet, the new starter isn't engaging the flywheel at it's new position?

Good battery? I'd...

Re: 235-60R17 Tires Kelly vs Firestone vs Goodyear?

I currently have Goodyear Assurance TripleTred. Not bad, so far...one of the reasons I got them is tread depth, as I had Michelin's on before and they barely made it to 30k miles...seems they came...

Re: Parts rig

Hmmm, your in a good area...lol
I'm in an area where free will have to do, as they have to haul it off the 'island' as it were (a full day). Pays for their gas and time...usually, they have pickup...

Re: Parts rig

Well, if tires are in good shape, I'd buy and part car.
Once your done stripping it of good stuff, call a wrecker and they will take it for free (scrap metal).

Re: 2006 VUe with 2.2l and 4T45 Hydro - Transmission Filter and oil change

I think flushing transmission is snake oil, and bound to cause problems. The filter and magnetic strip ought to catch anything nasty.
Speaking of which, I was reminded by a friend who had his...

Re: Warped Rotors after 30,000 miles

Well, one thing I never did before was re-grease the caliper guide pins...the boots always looked okay (like brand new), and they slid easily enough. but this time, I did re-grease, and I noticed a...

Re: Warped Rotors after 30,000 miles

Fdryer - when I was looking at hardware for these rotors/pads, I saw some simple spring clips...not sure if they were applicable to our model of rotor.
It was unequal pad wear that had me going...

Re: Warped Rotors after 30,000 miles

I got the similar to what you got (see my link in above post), except I got the carbon fiber pads...really liking the brake sound...no sound. Seems they are a Canadian outfit. I was PO'd because I...

Re: Warped Rotors after 30,000 miles

Good advice...I was thinking of doing a 'super clean' of calipers, and re-greasing. Yeah, long ago, I heard the back set, if not working properly, add to the load on the fronts, so I pull the drum...

Re: Warped Rotors after 30,000 miles

Well, so much for buying 'good' rotors (slotted premium).
One side (left) of rotor has this rough texture about an inch wide and it feels like the pads gouged an indentation in them. The other side...

I'd be all over a parts car...not only can you fix your car, maybe there is some good rubber on that car (easy swap), calipers, body panels, exhaust etc etc
Depends on what owner did it terms of...

Re: Class III Hitch decision, Curt, Draw-Tight, Reese, ?

Yep, done that....lol

As for which hitch, they all rust...you put anything hanging...

Re: Record for 4-cylinder 5-speed towing capacity?

I think it is the manual box that was the problem. My auto handles heavy loads amazingly well, provided I'm not driving in hot temps.
Sure, the ecotec does need to spool up to higher RPMs to...

Yeah, I was thinking if one had a thin 3/8" ratchet, maybe it would work....
I'll have to take peek at mine one day to see what the clearances are...
