No, not sealed. All you have to do is take off the driver's side tire and there's a drain and fill to hole. You can get a good used trans for under 1000.

These transmissions are very reliable. Unless the fluid has never been changed and/or the car was abused and the clutches are burned up or there's a mechanical problem.

Imo, if it's apart, and you're building the rest of it, finish the build. Though, if you aren't going to bulks it to Rev harder than 6500, you shouldn't need springs.

You can make 1000hp out of these engines, they even made a salt flat car out of one of these cars. There is a book it there telling you what parts of the engine need what for a given hp number....

Only rods on these engines are in the bottom of the engine for the pistons. The valves are directly acted on by the cam followers
