Re: Goodbye Saturn: Thanks for the Ride (1985-2010)

Thanks for all the great memories Saturn! I'll never forget the excitement of being involved with "A New Kind Of Company" much of which remain on the highlight reel of my career.

Re: Saturn VUE reliability

Mr. Karesh
Nobody in the automotive industry uses your "data" (and I use that term loosly) for one simple reason...
Your data collection methods are flawed and therefore ANY analysis of them in...

Re: oil change question

While what you have stated is true, the Astra DOES NOT require an oil that meets the GM4718M standard, it requires that it only meet GM6094M (pretty much any 5-30 with the API/ILSAC "Starburst"...

Re: Anything special to look for at delivery?

Same thing should be said for checking the air pressure in the tires.(tyres?) :D
They are OVER-inflated for overseas shipment but often overlooked on the PDI. Harsh ride and choppy handling are the...

Re: Astra-Back Seat Removal

The rear seat cushion come out quite differently (basically opposite) than most domestic cars. There's a pair or lock/release levers just under the front edge on both sides of the seat that need to...

Re: Battery light came on

Thanks for typing all that in!

Seeing the PIP number now I found it and what they did now makes better sense. PIPs are "intenral" and preliminary technical bulletins (not yet an official TSB) and...

Re: Battery light came on

There is no recall that included the replacement of the BECM.

The BECM is a seperate component from the battery packs. The most recent campaign #07318 (Feb 11 2008) calls for the replacement of...

Re: Battery light came on

Sorry to hear about your problems.
Did they put the TSB number on your copy of the repair order by chance?
Just wondering what they are going on as IMO the replacement of the BECM was questionable...

Re: Astra oil change and filter, power steering fluid reservoir ???

Due to the materials used in modern pistons/rings and combined with the finer more accurate cylinder wall finishes found in modern production engines, the need to wait for "break-in" before switching...

Re: Astra Cruise Control Resume Feature Problem....

The problem would then be, what "exactly" would be your complaint?
As far as I can tell it works exactly as outlined in the owners manual.
The dealer wont get paid to diagnose it any further than...

Re: "fix" for outside temperature reading issue

The difference is simple really. They are different systems. The IONs sensor isnt used for air conditioning at all so it's not "shared" via the network to the DIC. The ION was just a convenience item...

Re: Wheel Locks on the Astra

Actually I finally pulled a wheel (17") off one of these today.
It uses a removable "bolt" not a nut!! (17mm head)
So wheel lock NUTS wont even FIT! (unless they have a special PN# for a lock BOLT...
