Re: Performance Calipers

If they make stainless steel brake lines for the S series it will help with braking. The rubber hoses will expand when braking, stainless steel lines not so much so more power is going to the brakes....

On my black Camaro I run 20% all around including an eyebrow no problems. My Camaro has open headers right now too.

Re: 97 SL1 Bad MPG

Yes duh (as in I'm an idiot). I was looking up for the DOHC. The Single overhead cam runs a lower compression so it can run hotter plug.

Re: 97 SL1 Bad MPG

Usually any part store can order them. If I recall either Autozone or Advance Auto just started carrying them in store. These are the plugs. BKR5ESA-11.

STrim is short trim, LTrim is long trim. It...

Re: 97 SL1 Bad MPG

Yes. Saturns use Waste Spark and plain NGK Copper plugs are the best. They come from the factory with these plugs. They are like 2 bucks a pop compared to like 4 for Platinums.

Re: 97 SL1 Bad MPG

Get a hold of a scan tool that will do live data and look at the STrim and the LTrim. You want them to be at or near 128. You could even go a little higher than 128 which would lean it out and save...

Re: No Start... what should I try next?

See if the car will start on ether. If the car continues to run after you started it with ether its the CPS. If the can dies after it burns off the ether then you know its a fuel issue.

You can...

Re: No start hot.

Well figured it out. It was the classic heat soaked CPS sensor. The reason why the car wouldn't start was because I didn't get it tight all the way. Idiot moment.

Re: No start hot.

It runs fine besides a hesitation won't die. I almost got it to start with holding the accelerator down (clear flood). When I was looking at the live data it said my LTrim (Long Term Fuel Trim) was...

Re: No start hot.

It was the exhaust valve on number 2.

I am leaning towards spark because ether has a lower evap point then gas so it will ignite even on a weak spark. When I pulled the plugs the other day Number...

Re: Engine viabrates

TAM (Torque Axis Mount) or the top engine mount. If you can fit two fingers between the mount and the rubber its bad. Or obviously visible tears and crushing.

Update:

Changed the ECTS was the old style resin tip.
Car will not start unless ether is sprayed in then 1 or 2 cranks she runs.
She will hesitate once warm when getting on throttle.

Next...

Re: Backpressure

Back pressure myth came from old cars that use leaded fuel. The leaded fuel was to coat the valves because they were soft metals. Since lead was taken out they've had to make the valves out of harder...
