Re: Engine swap

If the '97 has a different fuel system, that would be the biggest pain. Hopefully you can remove the drag link bolt that holds the parking brake cable, so you can swap in the '99 filter/pressure...

Re: Engine swap

Isn't the '01 intake manifold different? With respect to sensors seems like the '99 is a better candidate to have things plug in nicely.

We replaced the bulbs in our '99 because several were burned out.

Re: Fog lights on second gen Saturn's..not a popular option???

I've tried both. It is an option. I find I can't see as well with the fogs as with the low beams.

Re: Lower left sub frame rust

I would go the replacement subframe route. Here is one from the Carolinas for $207 shipped.

Re: Fog lights on second gen Saturn's..not a popular option???

When I turn them on in fog I can't see any better. When I turn on my Dodge Ram truck-a-saurus foglights on in fog, they help a lot.

My Gen2 foglights suck. Maybe nobody wanted them?

Re: Pictures of my 1999 Homecoming Edition..

Wow - looks almost as nice as my '98!

That was a joke. I think my '98 would be embarrassed to be in the same country as your car.

Re: 1998 Saturn SL2 won't start when parked on driveway incline

Definitely check the ECTS and connector if you don't know it's status. That won't cause no spark though.

Re: 1998 Saturn SL2 won't start when parked on driveway incline

Coils are cheap and easy.

If there is no spark, I'd suspect the crank position sensor before the coils. Dying coils show up...

Re: 1999 sw2 brake lines non abs

Look at your 99 and 98 together. With ABS, there are 4 lines in a row like the picture above. Without, there are two pairs of lines, one above the other. So, that is different lines. I can't imagine...

Re: 1999 sw2 brake lines non abs

Not sure about gen 2 vs 3. For ABS vs non-abs, the master cylinder is different. Here is my 99 with:

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

On the Buick, yes. But if I change the S Series high beams to LEDs what happens to the DRLs? Or did you just do low beams?

The lights look good.

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

I just bought LED low beams for the $200 Buick. We did our first long trip in it last weekend (30 MPG!) and the lights were miserable. The new LEDs seem great. Got me thinking about upgrading the...

Re: 99 Saturn SL2 engine hesitation, now won’t start

Does the harness look ok? On my 98 it was all corroded.
