Re: LED that work

Not familiar with Astras so I would ask a few questions about your lighting before proceeding with light mods.

Are your daytime running lights using low beam, high beam or turn signals?

Re: bad EGR?

With nothing to lose, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to inspect the F5 connection for a burned, discolored wire.

Re: Impossible clutch bleed after replacing master cylinder

It's always good to have service manual procedures. If a short cut can make it easier with your method then adapting from recommended procedures is even better. I'd call that a win-win solution.

Re: Broken shock bolt

Is either the bolt head or nut exposed enough to use a dremel cutoff wheel? You didn't state what part broke. To ensure no weight is borne on the lower bolts, I use a jack to lift the shock just...

Re: Compressor pump type

Presuming r134a isn't replaced any time soon, the old standby of charging a system with the amount specified on underhood labeling still stands. This presumes a system that's repaired for any reason...

Re: Where is the starter relay on the 2007 Ion 2?

Tried wiggling that brown wire in the wire harness while monitoring 12v on that line? Push, pull, twist, whatever and see if 12 volts drop momentarily. This may be hunting expedition. Disconnecting...

Re: Compressor pump type

What do you consider commonly found temperature/pressure charts? I use service manuals, period. Not whatever is found from googling. Service manuals have specific charts for dealer services as well...

Re: bad EGR?

If you are sure the two nickels are blocking off the two ports underneath the egr valve then you have more than one problem. Code 32 is about the egr valve but doesn't address aging electronics. With...

Re: Where is the starter relay on the 2007 Ion 2?

A resistor in series with any fuse alters circuitry and can create new problems in addition to the intermittent short. It would not be advisable to add a resistor. Resistors are usually used to...

Re: Voltage problem:Security light on, gauges drop AC blows warm

No thanks necessary as you haven't found a solution to each problem. Going over your predicament, when you replaced or repaired speakers and wiring, did you make modifications to wiring, added an ...

Re: Where is the starter relay on the 2007 Ion 2?

According to your wiring diagram, the 2 amp fuse feeds power thru the bcm to power the engine and xmission control modules. I think you'd have to setup an ammeter between the orange wire (pin 17)...

Re: Help Troubleshooting Weak Blower Fan Issue

Two things wear out blower motors; bearings and brushes. No ball bearings. Plain bearings are porous sintered bronze holding oil for life. Polished steel shafts rotate in plain bearings. Cooling fan...

Re: A\C fuse blows everytime turn A\C on

SaturnMinion, the only reason for a diode in the ac circuit is after ac is turned off - the clutch coil magnetic field collapses and induces a current flow thru wiring to the ac relay contacts. When...

Re: Where is the starter relay on the 2007 Ion 2?

Mind sharing what you found to fix this issue?

Is your Saturn manual a service manual or owner's manual? Service manuals describe the purpose of the ac diode.

Re: 2003 LW300 Front Drivers Caliper locked up

According to the initial post, DOT-3 brake fluid was used to flush and replace old fluid. Hopefully this is the only fluid used and not petroleum based oil that would contaminate the brake system.

Re: 2003 LW300 Front Drivers Caliper locked up

Re: 2003 LW300 Front Drivers Caliper locked up

Presuming you unscrewed the brake master cylinder (slowly unscrewed the brake fluid) cap and heard a hissing sound, this seems very odd.

1-Brake master cylinder caps are grooved on the inside...

Re: Where is the starter relay on the 2007 Ion 2?

Check for a blown fuse or two.

It's always better to have service manual info for year and model (alldata or Mitchell online). If I can presume your '07 starting circuit is the same for '05 Ions...
